UL/UNC...Double Standard for big time programs

The article is spot on imo. The point being made that big name coaches will not be hammered hard is the main reason UL and UNC fans can act as if this is not a problem and continue to be arrogant pricks. They know that the NCAA will probably slap them on the wrist and then they can say "See, it was nothing at all. We are still doing it the Cardinal/Tarheel way" which by the way is the very definition of cheating and corruption. Way to show young men and women how to game the system UL/UNC, you guys are model programs.

Hmmm, gotta wonder who this is referring to?

But what one well-respected coach at a top-10 program told me last week really jumped out:

“If Rick Pitino and Larry Brown are still coaches at the end of the year,” the coach told me, “the message the NCAA is sending schools is that it pays to cheat.”

It for sure pays to cheat....the AC's will always fall on the sword for the HC, that's their job. And the accusers will be dismissed or paid off and at elite programs the media and other coaches will all come to defend their guy.

The NCAA has no rhyme or reason for their punishment, it's not "do this and here is the clear sanctions", so you can argue and plead down pretty much anything.

Plus, the school has the chance of "self-punishment", like taking away 2 scholarships for a year or 1 year of post-season ban which does very little, you can cheat for years and get the benefit yet the punishment is short-term.
