UL fans don't want Kenny Payne to get a second year

We live in a Janet "what have you done for me lately" Jackson society.

KP deserves more time or UofL is going to be in the same damn boat next year. Unless they find the next Cal. And I'm afraid that doesn't exist.

KP would have been better off staying away from that crap hole but he wanted an opportunity to coach his school and I get why he took the job.Its going to take some solid recruiting and hitting the transfer portal to get talent at UL and that takes time.....honestly,I don't think he will be given that chance.

I can't blame them not seeing a long term future with Payne might as well cut it off.

Kenny will get a second year.

After end of season is when the real comedy could begin. If he doesn't get any talent that can impact the team immediately it will truly be a dumpster fire.

Kenny was complaining in the beginning that negative recruiting was going on towards UL due to sanctions.

What does he say when his record now becomes negative recruiting? #numbersdontlie

Exactly. They should be better than they are right now but he deserves a second year now that the “sanction cloud” is gone. He needs to sell his soul tk the portal and find the best scorers from the mid major level.

He should have went all in on Emoni Bates last offseason. Sure, he’s a headcase and MeMeMe guy but he would have at least gave them an NBA potential piece to play through and let the other guys be the role players that they are.

Does Louisville have the money to even think about firing Payne and being able to pay a coach enough to leave a good spot to come tend their dumpster fire?

I would’ve imagined Payne had 2-3 more years minimum with the financial situation I thought they had.

They are broke. They HAVE to be. Between the lawsuits, firing Rick and Jurich, the scandal after scandal, the investigations (and paying people to gather up information to submit for those), etc. I can't see how they have ANY money left.

I don't know why on God's earth anyone would send their kid there now too.

It’s Facetious. Bc we were called racist for moving on from Tubby after 10 years of mediocrity and “he deserves more time”. Heard hints of the same nonsense after Jokers abysmal 2 years too
Tbf, we've had a rough couple of years with bad looks. Granted the university acted professionally and appropriately in each case, and did what they were supposed to do, but that hasn't silenced the "UK is racist" woke know-nothings.

Not to mention basketball attendance is in the dumpster, so they’re not bringing in a ton of money from their second most important program.

And Papa John was ousted and he’s now supporting UK, maybe not to the level that he financially supported Louisville at before, but losing the corporation Papa Johns and losing Papa John the near billionaire as a fan has to hurt.

Again, tbf, as much as I can't stand UofL, they didn't have much of a choice on that one......
Papa John did a stupid thing and with our knee jerk media they had to distance themsevles.

I’m not 100% as I don’t keep up w them or anyone else really these days….but I seem to recall post on here saying they were just getting a slap on the wrist. Idk if it was the entirety of allegations tho

Like you I don't keep up with them but I thought there had not been any decisions handed down yet. I might have missed it. Thanks

Gotta at least give the guy a chance to recruit w/o the threat of sanctions over the program. He was a Champion there too. They owe Kenny 3 years and no less. Doubt he can do much in 3 years, but this shit show is 95% not his fault.
