looking like the weather is going to co-operate today. Cats looking to extend their hot streak, winners of 15 of their last 17, the Cats look to march on.
UK will probably turn to freshman Zack Thompson on the mound, the Toppers will certainly be looking for pay back after the 17-2 lambasting the Cats put on them a couple of weeks ago.

UK up 4-0 in the 4th inning. M Carson hit a 2 run Homer in the 3rd inning, the best UK highlight so far !

WKU cuts the lead in half in the 4th, gets the tying runs in scoring position in the 5th with 2 outs, but Z Thompson gets the swing and a miss K to end the threat.
Cats up 4-2 going to the 6th.

Still 4-2 Cats, going to the 8th inning. C McHamer has pitched well in relief, with 4 K's in 2 innings of work.

UK hangs on to win 4-3, despite leaving the bases loaded in the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings. Thompson gets the win, and Salow comes in for a 1, 2, 3 9th inning save. Cats now 16-6 on the season, with Ole Miss coming in.

The thing I'm really pleased with is Mingione's desire to win midweek games. If 20 would've paid attention to midweek games, UK might have made the NCAA tournament more times than they did. When your LSU or Florida, you can afford hiccups in the midweek. UK doesn't have that luxury.

Great point. UK has lost SO MANY bad midweek games over the last 3-4 years. It cost UK a host site during the AJ Reid year, and has cost them tourney bids another two years. For UK, bad midweek losses essentially cancelled out big series wins over teams like Florida and LSU.

I'm kind of okay with it at this point... helped get rid of Henderson.
