Our 2 strengths are shooting and poy inside IMO . I don't that we started the season cold this is the first Cal team I want to shoot 15 3's a game as Murray , Willis , Ulis ( and Mulder if he ever plays ) are great shooters. Poy is a decent shooter as well. Skal is a great shooter but his inside game is horrible.
I think our percentage grows to be in the 35-37% range. We have good shooters that have just not started hot. We'll be fine.

At today's press conference, Cal said he wants this team to shoot more transition threes and play a style where guards attack and dish. Said he wants Willis as the stretch 4 for that reason as well.

It's what a few of us have been saying. Cal has been trying to develop Skal, and with good reason.
But reality is setting in and he knows how we have to play is not exactly how he wants to play.

I agree. He basically conceded Skal to start from the bench in the immediate future.
The last two weeks have been what we thought this team would shoot from 3. Last week vs. OSU we were 9/19 for 48% and this week vs. UL we were 11/23 for 48% for last 2 weeks 20/42 for 48%. If we can get Ulis and Murray hitting shots and playing good on same game this team will be awesome from shooting and shooting the 3. We also have Poythress, Mulder, Matthews, and Willis that can hit from the 3 as well. Marcus Lee is one of the most consistent player we have this year averaging double-doubles almost each and every game. Poythress is one that seems to be inconsistent in one game scores 6 and the next has 23 and 13 for a double-double.Last game vs. OSU Poythress was terrible vs. OSU was 2-4 for 6 points and vs. UL Poythess was 5-7 for 15 points and 7 rebounds. If we get this Poythress to be consistent in each game like today vs. UL and EKU 23 and 13 we have a solid team with him and Marcus Lee consistently get their Double-Doubles. Then our guards are knocking down shots and 3 point shots we will be fine. Just need to figure out our Center problem right now and I am not picking on our Fr. Skal as hopefully he will get better thru SEC play and NCAA March Madness.
35 percent is the minimum of where you want that to be. I think they can get it closer to 40 percent when March comes around.
