I, like everyone else could not sleep much last night. I would fall asleep and the fact that we lost to UCLA would come back and I was wide awake again.
This morning I played the game in my mind and I analyzed the reasons why UK lost and UCLA won.
turning the page backwards to our last couple of games, it should have been expecting the outcome of this game.
All free-throw misses and subpar performance may have caused some friction between coaching staff and the team, as well as between players among themselves, took major decline in confidence and deep down I was very afraid about the outcome of the game.
Not taking credit away from UCLA team and the coaches who came to play prepared, our team took them lightly and the outcome of the game was predictable in the first five minutes of the game.
Our coaching was subpar to say the least, and I could feel lack of confidence of our players when taking the shot.
Not much rebounding effort either.
Other reasons could be the distance of travel and the crowd of P. Pavilion and brought the unpleasant memory of our game when Rick Pitino took the cats to Los Angeles years ago. I lived in California then about 20 minutes from the pavilion, and was at the game, Same result.
I hope whatever the reason for this slump, they can come together and play like they are capable of, or we could expect more of the same again and again.
