UK softball wins again....

1-0 this morning over Louisiana Tech. Cats now 6-0 on the season, take on host Texas Longhorns @ 5:00 pm. UK got yet another no hitter, from Lauren Cumbiss today, the Tech pitcher aws tough also allowing only 1 run on 5 hits.

Also beat home standing Texas 6-4, had a shut out until bottom of 7th, UT got 4 runs. Cats now 7-0 on the season. Play IPFW tomorrow morning.

Great job by both teams today. UK Softball is playing some serious ball.

UK wins again this time rallying from a 1-0 deficit to beat previously unbeaten IPFW by a 2-1 count. UK got 2 solo HR's against a very tough IPFW lefty. Cats now 8-0, while IPFW falls to 6-1 on the season.
UK will play again @ 5:00 against either Texas or Louisiana Tech....GO Cats !

UK softball defeats home standing Texas 6-5 this morning, to win the Texas Classic. UK is now 10-0 on the season, UT walked UK slugger Griffin Joiner 4 times, and the 2 players batting behind her in the order both hit HR's, that speaks well for the team going forward !

And still streaking, 11-0 now and leading Penn State 4-0 in the fourth.

joiner had two more walks so far today, and here is why, pasted from an article a couple days ago:


"Junior catcher Griffin Joiner is the leader of UK's offense this season, posting a .556 (15-for-27) batting average with seven runs scored, two doubles, six homers and 14 RBI. Joiner's batting average and home run total are the highest in school history through 10 games. The native of Hopkinsville, Ky., who had four four-pitch walks in last Sunday's game vs. Texas, is currently riding a career-best, nine-game hitting streak."


Great pitching also, Numley leading with four wins but two newcomers shining, Smith with a 0.0 ERA and both with more strikeouts than innings pitched. And Cumbess is not just a very good pitcher, outstanding hitter also.

Not funny really, but Joiner just walked for the third time today with a runner on third and two out. UK up 5-0 in sixth with Numley trying for a complete game.

UK wins 2 down in Boca Raton Fl. defeating Penn State and the home team FAU. Cats now stand at 12-0 on the season, have a tough one tomorrow in Top 5 Michigan.
