Nope. Ole miss beat us with Eli. Close but not quite enough defense for UK back in those dayUK beat Eli Manning and ole Miss in Lexington
2006What year did UK beat Matt?
Agree - I always liked Matthew Stafford, very under-rated IMO and probably because he played on a bad team for so many yearsMatthew is a good guy. He has given 7 figures to Detroit for neighborhood recreational developement, donated 1mil to the academics at UGA. His wife had a brain tumor removed a while back, which wasn't cancer, but still took a lot of rehab. Glad to see him get away from the Lions and still have a some health left.
I was at that game. Heart breaking loss.Nope. Ole miss beat us with Eli. Close but not quite enough defense for UK back in those day
Big fan of Stafford, and like you, very happy to see him escape Detroit. Poor guy. It was really awkward when he was interviewed post-game after the conference title game and asked about leaving Detroit for LA. He seemed to feel like he had to rephrase the question in answering it... the subtext of the question was too obviously," How happy are you to be free of the Lions?" He has a lot to be proud of on and off the field. He's come a long way from his college days. He was always a player, but he's done carrying the beer weight and raising hell. He grew up awhile back now.Matthew is a good guy. He has given 7 figures to Detroit for neighborhood recreational developement, donated 1mil to the academics at UGA. 2006
We almost beat him and UGA again in 2008, as I recall he threw a TD pass either on the last play of the game or right near the end of the game and the Dawgs pulled it out 42-38
I don't remember the receivers name but could have been GreenTo AJ Green? I think that is who caught the TD, was right in front of me, and I remember we had great coverage, he just outjumped everyone.

How many games like that have we suffered through pre-Stoops? too many for me to think about.Yes, it was Green. For those who want to see a great play that UK should have won, watch this one from the tight angle. You will see the throw, placement and mechanics of Green to secure the td. If I recall, it was a 4th down play. As a UK fan, ugh…
Not quite. In his dream Dicky’s girlfriend broke off their engagement so he slapped her and Matt Stafford punched him in the face and said “never hit a woman”I think I remember an interview of Dicky Lyons jr. where he said he had a
dream that Mat Stafford stole his girlfriend!
