As the Cats prepare to host a regional for only the 2nd time ever, how do you think they should set the position players in the field and at the plate ?
I would make only 1 change in the position players on defense. Tyler Marshall must IMO, play 3rd. Luke Becker is terrific at the plate SH, good power etc. But he is fielding at an .859 pct. and that will simply not cut it. Marshall is .974 and Luke Heyer is at 1.000.
At the plate, Cottam is our hottest hitter, and along with Heady had good games in Hoover, Pompey did somewhat also. White dropped from .385 to currently .366, and Reks, Squires, and Carson struggled also.
Now, being at home, different competition, should help us get out of the doldrums, and return to the beasts at the plate, we were for the majority of the season. I like Hjelle on Friday, Thompson on Saturday, and Lewis to hopefully finish out the regional on Sunday.
