I was at the game and Kroger Field was packed and the fans were very much into the game!. It was great to see considering we were playing a lowly unranked NIU team. I remember the days when only half the stadium was filled up for these types of games. It's great to see that we pack the house no matter who we're playing.

Agree with OP, shocked at how good the crowd was for a MAC game (albeit a very good Mac team).

The rest of the home games should be excellent, with USC, MSU, Candy, UL, and UGA.

Are you a parent of family? How you get those seats? Nice place to watch from!

OP, you sit in parent/family section too?
My manager actually surprised me with 2 tickets to the game, so I took the wife with me. It was her first time going to a football game. We were in Sec 21/Row 38 which were pretty good seats in the lower level. She even commented about how packed and loud the stadium was. It was a fun night for both of us. I used to go to all the home games back in 2007 when Brooks was still the coach. I'm really liking Stoops and what he's done with the program. This team is the real deal!.

Hate to rekindle an argument but..... football school. Think basketball could sell out a game vs niu? No chance.

Yeah, we only lead the nation in attendance every year. Imagine being a UK fan and spending energy trying to tear UK down. Our football program is top 10 so is our basketball program preseason. Be happy that both programs are in great shape.

I am. Also you attempted a strawman.

Would UK basketball sell out a game vs niu?

Depends on the circumstances. A Saturday game when school is in session, probably. UK basketball has numerous sellouts. I'm not sure why you think we couldn't sellout NIU. There's no strawman, you posted nonsense.

Obviously you don't understand the concept of strawman.

When I say UK basketball can't sell out niu and you say "but they lead the nation attendance every year" - that is the perfect example of a strawman.

Also I previously let it slide but won't now - we don't lead in attendance every year. That's something we used to do but no more. In fact last year there were several games with less than 10,000 people. It's all well documented. If I recall, one such sparsely attended game was the same weekend as a football sell out.

I am a big fan of both programs. I attend games of both including post season. I didn't start the argument - that was cal. As it stands today, fans are more enthusiastic about football. It's just a fact. So kudos to the amazing crowd Saturday. It was a great environment for sure

That aint a strawman, its just evidence against your false premise that we can't sell out an NIU basketball game. LOL at your pathetic football vs basketball war. Both programs are great and you don't need to tear down one to prop up the other.
