Since Bryant, ten Coaches have coached at least four seasons at U.K.

Here is the ranking of each Coach’s BEST FOUR CONSECUTIVE SEASONS BY PERCENTAGE:

1. Bear Bryant, . . . . . . 1947-50, . . . 73.3%
2. Mark Stoops, . . . . . 2018-21, . . . 66 %
3. Fran Curci, . . . . . . . 1976-79, . . . 60 %
4. Rich Brooks . . . . . . 2006-09, . . 56.7%
5. Jerry Claiborne . . . 1983-86, . . . 55.5%
6. Blanton Collier . . . 1954-57, . . . . 55 %
7. Hal Mumme . . . . . . 1997-00, . . . 43.5%
8. Charlie Bradshaw . 1963-66, . . . 42.5%
9. Bill Curry . . . . . . . . 1990-93, . . . 37.8%
10. John Ray . . . . . . . 1969-72, . . . . 23.5%

Again, these were each of their best four consecutive seasons . . . interestingly, of those who coached more than four years, only Brooks and Stoops have their last four as their best four.

Imagine if we didn't have that shit show of a political year in 2020 what kind of record Stoops would have.

In 2020 this virus was new, had not been studied enough by scientists, and there were no vaccines yet that year.
I don't blame those in charge for being cautious at the time about protecting our student athletes.
Turns out now we know that this virus is unstoppable with or without lockdowns, gotta move on regardless, and that if you get vaxxed your odds of dying or being hospitalized are slim to none.
We also are able to treat those that have it much more effectively now.
This virus should have always been about science instead of the clown politicians using it for votes. The virus never has, nor ever will, gaf what party you vote for.

-glad you are coming around, shin. My issue is these things were known by quite a few of us in summer of 20...based on historical knowledge of how viruses behave, etc.

I’ve lost two friends to Covid, and a neighbor I did not know well.

I caught Omni during the bowl trip.

All that said, when the opportunity presents itself, I’ll calculate Stoops’ % had he gone 7-6, 8-5, 9-5, or 10-3 in 2020.

How old were your friends hack?

Damn, sorry to hear that sir. Crazy how it can kill one person but do nothing hardly to others.
My symptoms twice have been light enough that I would not have sought testing or treatment in normal times.

I do not know a “30 something” who has died, but have met two who did the respirator for weeks.

It is crazy.

U K Football has helped keep me sane!!!

Feel like we were headed for 8-4 reg season if not for Covid and having to play fewer and all SEC schedule. Maybe a 1 win swing in either direction.

I know you kidding around

wait!!

ARE YOU FOR REAL???

That team was very disappointing.

all that talent and leadership

smh

For 2020 lets take away the losses to Alabama and Ole Miss, and add 4 victories for FCS/G5/UofL That makes us 9-4 on the year. So 10-3, 8-5, 9-4, 10-3 would be 71%. So still not on the Bear's level but pretty dang good.

Once we go 15-0 next year he will be at a 75% clip for 2019-2022. So Stoops is gonna take all of the Bear's Records next year!

This is just a silly take.

There are 3 games you can point to that the result was "disappointing"
Auburn (Ref screw job at end of 1st half really hurt)
Ole Miss (Missed XP in overtime)
Missouri (Schlarman didn't travel with the team for the first time. Writing was on the wall)

Ole Miss wasn't even on UK's 2020 schedule they were added after the fact. Alabama also not on our schedule so throw that out. So you're looking at 2 disappointing losses and losses to UGA and Florida. We 99% would have beaten our 4 Non-Conf opponents for a 9-4 record. That's the caliber team we had last year.

Go ahead and be disappointed but I feel you are not giving the team the credit they deserve. the 5-6 record cannot be compared to past or future seasons, playing a 10 game SEC schedule with no cupcakes has to be viewed with proper context

Sorry to hear that, Hack. I've lost friends as well. If they were able to be treated early, I doubt any of my friends would have been lost. No way to tell if it was actually covid or something else since the testing protocol is so flawed, but they are gone nonetheless, and were refused treatment until they were too bad off to recover. Lockdowns and masks didn't help them.

Nearly lost a friend to the shots, neighbor lost a brother in his 30s after the shot. Both in good health prior.

I think we'd have played much better in 2020 had we not lost a whole spring and summer of development. That's what this staff does best. I also think that's why so many of the players now are transferring out. They can't get that time back and want to play. Totally get it.

I disagree. That team had no heart and almost not real toughness

and if they really want to honor Schlarman, they would have dug deep

Not sure why, but I had you pegged for early 70’s. Good for you traveling so much and following the Cats at a young age!
Feel like the early 70’s some times!!

I’m hoping my “wisdom beyond my years” has shown through.

Going to every Kentucky football game was on my bucket list. Might not do it, again. I don’t like to fly, and driving those distances is getting tough.

I get whiney after 5 hours, . . . “We better win this damn bowl game, by Gawd . . . .”

I saw a Kentucky couple at Mississippi State in their 70’s who still do all the games, with a huge travel trailer/RV.

Tough folks!!
