They may be motivated but does that translate to success on the court? Wouldn't you say most college team players are motivated to do well and win? I would expect that Alabama having a home game will be very motivated too.
Perhaps there is a talent factor too along with how well you are playing together in the right combinations. My concern isn't that Poythress, or Lee, or even Skal are motivated but rather how they support one another. I do believe it will be disappointing for me and many others if Skal is put again in a position at center where it just seems so glaring that it is not his forte and thus should be combined with Lee at the post, or Humphries at the post and Skal at the 4. Do we stick with a 3 guard line-up? I don't personally see this as the best option at least on how things are at present. But, none of us are able to observe what goes on behind the scenes, we can only judge by what we see on the court.
Retrospectively, too much emphasis seems to have been places on stopping Simmons rather than letting him have his and stopping the rest of the LSU team. Alabama is a good (not great) team and we should do better anyway.
