True that you cannot compare Basketball and Football as far as the games themselves. But last night for any of you all old enough to remember the 96` beat down that we gave UT in Alan Houston`s last game as a college player. I dont recall the final score but it was something like 104 -40 an over 60 point beat down. You saw a coach (Pitino) that was far and away ahead of the defeated coach in scheme, personnel and offensive innovation beat the absolute stew out of a coach that really was on his way out the door in Wade Houston. While I dont think that Stoops is on his way out the door I DO think there is a like comparison in watching Tenn play offense versus us play offense. I have been an avid UK football fan and season ticket holder since I was five years old (my dad had season tix) I have went a few years here and there, and not renewed but I have watched a ton of UK football. One of my worst memories was leaving the funeral for my Dad in 1984 and then listening as the Orange beat the absolute stew out of us once again. Last night brought back such negative emotion, because stupidly I thought we were past anything like this happening to us anymore. I just kept thinking we are watching the future of offensive football in Tenn. and looking at an outdated style of offensive football in what we are putting on the field. It is not the players, this is on the coaches. Coach Scang called as bad a game as you can call last night. We saw the writing on the wall for Wade Houston back after that 60 point thrashing we gave UT IN 96. I believe last night we saw the future of our offensive coordinator and the future is not bright. Lets hope we dont have him much longer.
