#7 works for me. It will be difficult to move up now. We have to wait for good teams to lose.
True, but with 11 teams with one loss now ranked, should we drop one to a ranked Ole Miss, we likely stay Top 15, with a chance to climb, the next three weeks.
And, if it is chalk until our trip to Neyland, that will be our most important trip to Knoxville since Thanksgiving, 1951.
And keep winning. If we get by Ole Miss, a big if., we do have a more manageable schedule then some of the other top 7 the next few weeks.
There may be almost no other losing streak or bad run that Coach Stoops has not broken yet. Incredible the heights this program has reached.
Beat Ole Miss and maybe we could find ourselves in the top 5. Not sure who the teams above us play, though.
EDIT: Looking at the top 6 ahead of us, it may be tough to sneak in there even with a win. Clemson plays #10 NC State, but even with a Wolfpack win they may just jump us. #4 Michigan plays Iowa, but UM will likely win. #3 Ohio State plays Rutgers, so that’s a win. And I don’t think UGA or Bama lose or we may not even pass them with a loss.

That could make it interesting, but I think NC State jumps us with a win. If we dominate Ole Miss and just pound them, maybe we could still be ahead of them. I think it will be a close game, though.
Given Clemson’s close game with Wake, and coming off a 9-3 season, I don’t see State leap-frogging anyone above them short of a State beat down. Clemson just doesn’t have that Bama/Georgia shine right now.

I’m not saying we would put a 49-3 beatdown on them like Georgia, but I’m not saying we wouldn’t, either.
Love the top 7 ranking. Wow! Arkansas sure fell a lot for a close loss to another ranked team. That’ll be us I bet (a larger than deserved drop) if we lose to Ole Miss

My 2 favorite teams 78 BB team and the 77 FB team. I had a good BB run 82-86, but FB not so much. My freshman year 0-10-1 and I was there for every home game.

I honestly expected them to move down after that showing, but NIU may not lose another game playing with that kind of aggression.
I’m going to bet over 10 threads on one poster. Kinda dreading it in a good sorta way.🥴
The guys voting are pretty ruthless. If you lose, these guys don't just drop you a few spots like they do in college basketball, they drop you 10-15 spots, even if you lose a tough road game.
At this point, while I enjoy the polls, I think our charge is to win until Georgia, and play them with two top 1-7 ranked teams playing for a spot in the playoffs.
No kidding. Florida played UT pretty damn tough and they plummeted. Not fair at all considering that game came down to the last quarter.
I’d put any almost any SEC team up against Utah right now (minus Vandy or SC). That’s a joke they’re that high.
The B1G and PAC bias is real.
Tbf the MAC is hot garbage right now. Most teams in it are 1-3, couple of two and twos. Now granted they’ve got their cupcake money beatings but I’m just not impressed with most of them atm.
There aren't too many teams that are going to beat UT in Knoxville and Florida was a dog, but they still dropped. They were supposed to lose.
Heck, Florida played better yesterday than they had all year. Makes no sense.
Utah dropped like a rock when they lost at Florida.
Oklahoma fell way down after losing to a really good K-State team.
I just think they're too harsh on teams that lose and I'm afraid to see what they'll do to UK if we lose at Ole Miss.
We topped out at 8th the Sunday after beating Arky on the road, and Sunday, September 14th, after beating LSU.
In the BCS system/poll of that era we did top out at 7th on September 14, 2007, one slot above our AP ranking.
