South Carolina star Sindarius Thornwell is dealing with an illness two days before the Final Four.

Thornwell is not at University of Phoenix Stadium on Thursday due to what coach Frank Martin said was a “little body bug” and did not practice. Martin, who is battling a bug himself, says Thornwell is back at the hotel resting and hydrating.

The 6-foot-5 senior guard has led South Carolina to its first Final Four, practically carrying the Gamecocks by himself at times.

He’s the leading scorer in the NCAA Tournament at 26 points per game and averaging 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2 steals per gam

Meh.. South Carolina just doesn't have enough to take down UNC in the title game.. Oregon has a chance, Gonzaga has a chance.. Don't care about Gamecocks feel good story.. UNC has to go down.

Ummm, UNC plays Oregon. And, a healthy Thornwell, still would not beat Gonzaga. South Carolina is going to be like West Virginia when they beat us to get to the Final Four. They are good but not great, were able to beat Duke because of physical play and the reality that Duke was not really great if they were not hitting the 3's, and played a Florida team they had beaten twice and whom was missing their inside player. Nice ride, end of story. Oregon also is missing one of their key players but I hope somehow either they or Gonzaga beat the cheats but it doesn't look promising.

South Carolina is like Chef in the South Park episode with the hippies.. He needs to sacrifice himself for the greater good. He has to give up his life so Gonzaga may live to finish the mission.

Gonzago always playing a weak schedule and getting seeded in the weaker brackets. Would not surprise me if they luck out with SC's star not 100%.

Has anyone been watching the Gonzaga games. They are actually very good. We would have struggled with their big man. Not saying we would not have won, but they are no push-overs.

They are much more athletic on the wings with those transfers than they've ever been and that is the biggest difference I see with them. They are legit. But if they play UNC in the title game with Higgins "officiating," they are going to feel like a rape victim after the game.

:joy::joy::joy: sad but true

Oh yeah, watched them plenty. They are a little better this year but their pampered treatment in the tournament and their love fest with sports announcers over the years is not warranted. Put them in the east year in year out they are mediocre at best.
