UF opens as 4.5 pt favorite over UK

it awful when the second game of the year is a must win, and double bad when it’s on the road in the SEC. However being the underdog helps if UK is full strengt.

7 pt spread makes sense vs SEC team that just won vs a ranked opponent. A lot of history in the Swamp with Florida down but still with a lot of good players. Single score spread down there is much tighter than most if recent history and not a bad place for UK to be. Turnovers and bad penalties separate teams this close. UK has a nice shot at an upset and more meaningful than if Florida had just lost.

I looked at the stats for the UF/Utah game and UF gave up nearly 450 yds of O to the Utes and the Gators had zero sacks. If that line goes to 10 I might have to get some.
I will to, I still have Florida winning but think it’s going to be a 1 possession game

Meh, that's about right. It's also good poster fodder for the team to get fired up about.

Utah's entire game is that west coast style of play where the only thing that matters is the offense. Defense is just a suggestion.

Only one Florida receiver (Pearsall) had over 50 yards of receiving. Unless AR can throw to himself that makes their offense one dimensional. That helps up greatly since we have good linebackers and a decent line. Still not sold on Valentine though.

The O-Line has to get it together. Either way I think it will be a game where you better bring the Maalox bottle and pray for good refs.

We need to actually block on the left side on those stunts. If we can do that, we can compete into the 4th quarter.

I'd say ND & UT had must win games for playoffs the first week, so we're not in the worst position.

I think the PAC 12 sucks and that they just rank their teams to keep their west coast fans interested.

I watched the end of the Florida game, I don’t think either team looked great, I think Kentucky would beat Utah more comfortably than they did, and I think Kentucky vs Florida is a toss up game but I give Florida the edge because of the swamp.

Has moved to 7 points.

If Florida thinks they can rush with five and drop six then Levis and the passing game are in trouble. Need to run the ball and pass protect better.

I think UK’s defense will hold their own.

Their QB had a lot to do with that. He ran for like 90 yards on us and he doesn't hardly ever get sacked. I think he had the least sacks per game in the power 5 conference teams last season. Having said that their big RB did average 5 yards a carry against us.

If our OLine plays like they did against Miami O., we’ll lose the game. If they play better and keep Levis safe, we win by 10. Really comes down the those guys in my opinion. We definitely need something from the run game as well but still comes down to opening holes for them. I’m looking for the win myself. I know it’s going to be a dog fight but I believe we’re tough enough to keep fighting and come home 2-0. Go Cats.

If it were a win against ala or ga...........I'd probably pass on this game.

I dont believe the odds. The game yesterday was hard to watch and close at that.

A Utah win is not as impressive as winning against better teams in the sec.

🤔

Alot is going to be dictated by injuries. How many did the Gators have and how many did UK have?
Unfortunately our dark cloud will dictate alot as well. We will know more tomorrow or Tuesday.

UK will be ranked higher and beat UF last year and still goes in as underdogs with most UK fans anticipating a loss…does this mean UK is, in fact, a basketball school?

No, it means the Swamp is an incredibly tough place to get a win. Nothing more, nothing less.

Not a UF fan at all. But until they quit on Mullen last year UF was a pretty good team, came within 2 of beating Bama, played UK a tough game. Played us tough for a half, and then for whatever reason quit the 2nd half and rest of the season. No way they should have lost to Missouri or SC last year, but after they quit anyone could beat them. If Napier could get them back and gain their trust I knew they would be better than they were at the end of last year, don't know about the beginning. But they are probably good enough to win a division of the Pac12 this year, maybe the conference.

Lay the points with FL. We did not look good at all imo. O-line was terrible. Look FL by 21-35.

I am feeling confident with how your O line looked but knowing our luck that will be rectified by game time. I think our new receiver Pearsall from AZ State will have a nice day also if you play your DBs off like that.

The thing that gives me hope is that we typically have a good jump in level of play from week one to week two. Even though we win most of them, we always seem to come away complaining about the first weeks performance.

Oh you know he will play them off the receiver. Not exactly sure why but I trust it is the best way with the personal he has. Guess that's why he wants long-tall DB"s trick a QB into thinking he has more room then he really does? What do you think? Gator Fever --is it?

imo…

probable outcome:

1. UK’s offense can’t do enough. Too many sacks, pressure, and poor running game. Florida’s offense slowly builds a lead and wins comfortable but scoreboard reads closer for those who didn’t watch…27-13.

Most likely paths to UK upset

1. Florida has three plus turnovers and UK steals one.
OR
2. Levis plays like a man on fire and becomes Heisman front-runner.

Overly-negative outcome:

1. Levis tries to do too much because the offense can’t click, and gets injured and then misses later games.
AND
2. Mark Stoops resigns
AND
3. Your dog dies
AND
4. Cthulhu reign begins and last 100,000 years.

Georgias defense last year sapped the soul out of a lot of teams.
