They are very well Coached and have talent but are very beatable. Can Bama beat them? Yes they can but will need to avoid playing like garbage.

Alabama will have to score 95 to 100 and hit 15 threes to bear UCONN...maybe.

Purdue may get a million free throws but they will have to shoot the 3 ball better than they did against UT to keep it competitive late.

Their luck has to even out at some point. Winning the title five of the six times they have made the Final Four is ridiculous. Coach K was only 5 for 13, Roy was 3 for 9, and Wright and Self are 2 for 4.

They’re a great program but have gotten quite lucky. They seem to hit the lottery everything they have a team that makes a run.

The closest game they’ve had I think during their current win streak is 5 point win over St. Johns. Maybe someone should study the film and see what they did. Actually wasn’t their last loss to Creighton? A team that likes to either score on layups or 3’s, similar to Alabama 🤔

You think it’s luck huh???

I don't think they've been particularly tested all that much on this 10 game NCAAT run. Illinois was considered probably the best team they went up against, and they absolutely just self imploded.

Alabama might be able to give them trouble, but probably not. Thankfully Purdue should be able to win against NCstate as Edey will get some protection (plus he's just very tough to contain) and I think Purdue could beat Uconn.

If Calipari was a great coach UCONN wouldn't have 2 titles.

I hate calipari but the officiating down the stretch in 2011 had a lot to do with that loss as well as Knight shooting an unrealistically bad volume percentage.

2014 was due to refusal to zone and wcs being out. The reason we ultimately lost was offense though. Holding uconn to 60 should have been enough.

And it doesn't help that two of their guards was hitting 3's from the parking lot.

Everyone is beatable. But what they do a better job of doing is they lock in on what you don't do well and make you try to beat them that way. Which most teams can't do. They have lost 3 times-but being way overdue for a clunker...I mean it's The Final Four--you get to the Final Four, you aren't as depressed as if you gag in the 1st Round.

I expect them to take Sears out of the game and make other guys beat them and it's why Wrightsell returning will be a boost-but Bama is going up in weight class when it comes to dealing with Clingan. He's a Monster. He negates the rim points Bama wants to get and forces you to be one dimensional.

The game against Purdue is where it would be interesting seeing Edey is officiated like he's Scotty Pippen Jr wearing a Duke jersey. Know he's not a star but man was Pippen Jr treated like one by SEC officials. They have shooters around him. But what UConn does that Purdue won't like-watch their team SPRINT the floor-they don't jog-they don't run-they SPRINT the floor and that pace is hard for someone that big to deal with.

But this is a 1 and done format--anyone can be off or have a bad break and lose. It's why we watch. But if they win, their success when they get to The Final Four is going to be borderline insane.

I do like the -11.5 line for Bama. Not a bad longshot money line

Yes. Going 5 for 5 in title games has some luck involved. The vast majority of champions have some luck involved in their run, whether it's the bracket breaking their way, a few calls going their way, a few bounces going their way in a close game, having an opponent go ice cold, etc. In 2014 UConn needed OT to escape their first round game. A few bounces don't go their way and they're one and done that year.

This year they're absolutely dominant and it would be one of the few titles that probably had zero luck involved.

So you really think there's been zero luck? If you win a title as a 7 seed with a shit coach there's luck involved, there just is. A 7 seed is in no way dominant. Having two guys get hot for six games and carry you to a title is a form of luck. Having the bracket break your way so you never play a 1 or 2 seed is luck or face teams you matchup well against is luck.

In 2004 UConn went on a 12-0 run at the very end of a game that was all but lost to beat Duke by 1 in the Final Four. There's some luck involved with Duke scoring 0 points during that run.

And to be clear, no one is saying it's purely luck. But even something that's 5% luck will eventually break the wrong way and cause you to lose. There is no argument that can be made that says their five titles have in no way been caused by at least a little luck.

No it’s not luck. If they win this year will you continue to call it luck? While cal has been at UK: duke 2 titles, UNC 2 titles, UCOnn 3 maybe 4 titles, Villanova 2 titles. It’s not luck. It’s execution when the time comes and cal has failed that’s why this luck crap gets thrown around
