Tyler Ulis frustrated with teammates as Breakfast Club grows

I'm betting Ulis has never even seen the movie. [banana]

If he can't be in NBA, then he can become assistant coach and we'll pay him 500,000. :-D

Even though UK is on the verge of falling out of the top 25, I still think this Breakfast Club song is appropriate regarding the Cats in March of this topsy turvy college basketball season:

Hopefully, the loss to UT will wake them up and cause them to play more as a team and forget about getting to the NBA. The coaching issues also need to be addressed. How to break down a zone, for starters. Every team will throw a zone at the Cats. Until the interior players learn how to post feed the ball and rebound more around the basket, the Cats will struggle, especially on the road. Sheer talent will not break down a zone. Good set plays can.

Teams have played zone against UK ever since Cal arrived. He nor his assistants, have yet to devise a game plan to score consistently against it

27, 10, 2, 42, 10, 5, 24

Those are our offensive efficiency ranks since Cal's been here, counting this year.

If we're that easy to guard and that unprepared, how do we average out to a top 20 offensive team?

Ulis will be one hell of coach, whenever he hangs the sneakers up.

I would 110% be on board with Ulis being hired as well. Would love to see him end up with his jersey in the rafters as both a player, and a coach at UK. Has every bit of heart, leadership, and basketball IQ to do it as well.

Sidebar: As an NBA coach, how do you not try and fit him on your roster? He's already more motivated than half the NBA, and a better leader than 90% of the players in the league. That type of mentality can really make a team, just like the lack of that mentality (Howard and Harden) can break a team..

And it's a shame that some players don't take their time here seriously, and a player like Ulis has to suffer for it. I do feel bad for him. To go from 38-0 to this must be a kick in the balls.

I keep telling you to STOP it, with the facts... It spoils the biased, delusional perspective.

compare that # to the teams that played zone

compare that # to the teams that played zone

If you want to break down every possession where we played against zone, be my guest.

The point is that we are pretty good on offense, and most teams play some zone. If we were as ineffective against zones as you say, our numbers wouldn't be this strong across the board.

This is why I said that Tyler is the best guard in the country. Nobody else would take it upon themselves to keep dragging these guys along, hoping they will see the light. You add that into his skills, and there is nobody I would rather have at pg.
