At start of year I thought he might shoot 50% this year. 3-17 to start season. His stroke is to good hope he makes some this half.

"insert name" is in a slump from 3. Somewhat concerning, what seemed like a strength isnt showing to be so....

Tyler will be fine.
He does so many other things well like drive throw lobs and play defense.

Yeah, last year he was clutch from 3 point range, this year he is really struggling. I think his mindset is all about assists. He only shoots when it would be stupid not to but it almost seems like he hesitates because of his mindset. He needs to just let it fly and not think about it. He needs to realize that he is still a good scorer.

Re-doggone-lax....This team is still learning to play at this speed. They are getting into game shape. many factors will change and the three and free-throws will start falling....:cop:

I'm no coach, but I'm thinking it may be SLIGHTLY early in the season to declare something like 3-pt shooting to be a major weakness....

Cats are up by 8 points
#2 team in the country is losing to Illinois state. What's your point?
So a young team is missing some shots against a zone.
Also, did it ever occur to you that Cal purposely scheduled teams like Boston, knowing that they play a zone, to teach his players how to play against it? This is part of the process. Quit being a clown.

But but, he said after the first game of the season that he hadn't even worked on zone offense yet. Why would he purposely schedule a strictly zone playing team so early in the season before he had a chance to even work on zone offense?

Clearly Calipari is just a moron who didn't realize he'd come up against a zone. Not having the zone offense fully implemented in November is just an unforgivable sin. We'll never win games in March with a shaky November zone offense.

I posted a similar thread last week and every excuse in the book was made. Truth is that Tyler is shooting poorly and non of the excuses I keep seeing being used are the reason. He is going to have to be a 40% 3pt shooter to have a title shot.

Because that is part of the teaching process. There are too many other things that take priority before a zone offense. You can't really be this dense can you? You really can't see the point in scheduling a team that plays like Boston? NJIT ran a Princeton offense, do you think it's possible that Cal did that for a reason? Think about it.

UK only scored 11 points from outside of the paint tonight.

That's scary.

Cal just mentioned Ulis 3 point shooting during post game. Thinks he is hesitant because he is missing wants him to keep shooting. Cal does seem concerned about shooting from 3 and line

You know we're not concerned about beating Boston. We're concerned about the bigger picture. It's a legit conversation. I think Ulis and Murray will get it going soon, though.

He mentioned something similar in the game thread the other night. He harps on every negative detail he can find.

He definitely does. I have not put him on ignore yet, but I probably will the first REAL CLOSE GAME UK has. They have yet to have one.

Conversation? Sure. Weeping and gnashing of teeth? Not so much.

We aren't comfortable from the three yet because the focus is on driving the ball.

I suspect that Ulis is struggling because he is so much more locked in on the larger role that he has this year.

My guess is that we will be a very steady three point shooting team as the year progresses.

And oh yeah, it's November and we're 5-0 and ranked first.

I love UK basketball. It's fun for me. This board can be a lot of fun. But sometimes...
