What would the first team all American squad look like?

Denzel Valentine
Kris Dunn
?
?
?

Does Jamal Murray make the cut? Ben Simmons?

What about some of these guys ...

Grayson Allen
Caris LeVert
Buddy Hield
Melo Trimble

Denzel Valentine is freaking unbelievable man. I mean that dude is ballin right now. You know Ben Simmons is gonna make it too no matter what. I will say this. Simmons is a very, very special talent who'll probably go number 1 overall, but all this comparing him to LeBron shit is just dumb. He aint LeBron James version 2 or nothing like that.

Valentine is a tough matchup but we have a guy who can matchup well and limit him

Who are you talking bout? Briscoe? Mathews could probably do a pretty good job defending him IMO. Especially since we wouldn't play them til the tourney.

Murray won't because on this team he is not going to stand out enough. If he is on MSU or Providence, he would for sure.

I think Ulis and Grayson Allen will be in the backcourt if they keep this up (not just because they're very good, but also because the media freaking loves them). Valentine and Simmons are givens.

None of our guys have been consistent enough for me to feel comfortable putting them in. Dunn, Valentine, and Simmons would be locks. If any of our guys do make it, it would be Murray.

Ulis
Dunn
Heild
Valentine
Simmons

I haven't seen a dominant true big man yet this season. So far it's all about the guards/wings.

Yeah after some thought I think it will be Ulis/Allen ( though it should be Murray) / Valentine / the big man from Iowa St whose name escapes me this second / Simmons . Now I do think Skal will be in there by March though.

Niang?

I think either Ulis or Murray is in that conversation. I might go with Ulis simply because he changes the complexion of the game on both defense and offense. They rewarded Willie for his defensive prowess last year even without gaudy numbers, and I can see Tyler making it based on that precedent. Ulis just has so many intangibles, and the tangibles aren't that bad either.

Murray's play the other day looked like the Murray of the PanAm games. If that continues, I'd have to think Murray is also AA. That one sequence of 3 shots -- in traffic, jump shot in the lane, corner 3 -- was just outstanding. Add in that balletic thing he did on the under-thrown break away shot and his left hand shot in traffic to start our scoring, and he had a kind of mini-encyclopedia of basketball that game.

I haven't watched LSU but apparently in addition to everything else, Simmons is the best rebounder of the last 10 years. Or more. They might give him 2 slots.

People think Murray is the best bet for a Cat to make it? Over Ulis? I disagree.

Ulis had 1 bad game and that was his 1st ai believe.. His ATO ratio is filthy. He's making it happen all over the floor.

The a/t ratio is the only thing that jumps out at the moment. His 3pt shot has disappeared. Thankfully he's gotten much better at converting shots inside, but he's still only 40% from the floor for the year. I don't think he's gonna put up the points, so he'd have to have a ridiculous assist total to even be considered.
