Both of UK’s early basketball commitments for the class of 2016 are considered to be among the top 25 seniors in the country, according to updated composite rankings released earlier this week.

The Recruiting Services Consensus Index — a composite of all of the major recruiting services’ rankings — has Wenyen Gabriel at No. 16 overall and Sacha Killeya-Jones at No. 25 overall in the class of 2016. Both players committed to Kentucky in recent weeks.

The RSCI was established in 1998 as a more accurate measure of national recruiting rankings, and this year’s version uses rankings from Rivals.com, Scout.com, ESPN, 247Sports and Van Coleman’s Hot 100 Hoops.

Top UK target Harry Giles is No. 1 in the rankings, edging out California wing Josh Jackson for the top spot. Duke commitment Jayson Tatum and top UK targets Malik Monk and De’Aaron Fox fill out the top five.

Giles, Monk and Fox all visited UK for Big Blue Madness on Friday night.

Other UK targets in the RSCI rankings include: Edrice Adebayo (8th), Rawle Alkins (14th), Kobi Simmons (17th), Jarrett Allen (19th) and Marques Bolden (21st).

Taylor County guard Quentin Goodin comes in at No. 93 in the RSCI rankings, making him the only Kentucky high school player on the list. Goodin has committed to Xavier.

Wow, there is a good chance UK's class will have 5 top 25 players. Think back a few years to the BCG years and getting excited when a single top 50 recruit was interested. Enjoy the ride, because this is as good as it gets.

I think both of our early recruits will rise in ranking. Their potential is off the chart.
