Tweets on UK's first fall scrimmage(8-15)

Hate to hear that about Badet, kid can't seem to catch a break on the injury front.
Yeah, I'm starting to worry that he's an "injury prone" kind of player. Maybe its just bad luck, but he's been injured quite a lot throughout his career.

It's football and every injury is magnified at this level. Anyone who has ever played football knows how dinged you get after a full scrimmage. Badet is small but is quick and pretty fast so when you are going all out little things will happen. I hope he can stay healthy for most of the season because it could decide a lot of our games concerning wins and losses if we lose a lot of guys. Let's knock on wood for a healthy season.

My football coach always preached that there was a difference between being hurt and being Injured. Sounds like maybe badet is the former, this time, hopefully.

Saw Westry in the background of the Stoops vid with a red shirt and looked to have a limp. Anything on that injury?

Here is the CJ's write up which is identical to what was posted on HOB.

Curious...has anyone heard how many plays they ran?

Peace

after reading and hearing on how this team is doing...I'm gonna say this team will be a big surprise to a lot of teams on the schedule. no more of the other teams easy chalk up wins against this team. yea I know for a lil over 57 years I get my hopes up ,only this time I truly believe this team will be competitive week in and week out. and I'm dam excited about it.

Lol..Dude, the only reason you are asking is so you can run back to the cards board and compare to Petrino running 175 plays and gush all over him again for being such a football coach savant..

Nawww...I've already said that on many occasions during his first tenure (i.e., he gets in way more reps than most coaches in a given time period). Just curious if it is a still a valid statement. [winking]

U people stressing about our "injuries" need to follow the sport more nationally. All Over the country star starters are getting REAL injuries and being lost for the season.

Getting reps for reps sake isn't necessarily a good thing if someone is not being corrected and getting reps using bad techniques. In the spring they slowed things down to make sure guys were getting 'good' reps and not just ripping through things.

Doing the right thing 10 times is better than the wrong thing 100 times.

here is something to chew on besides all the bs you tard fans are spewing......it's not how many reps you run in practice. however it is the number of properly executed reps you run.......if you run 175 reps and only 30 are with a crap what good was it. oh that's right we ran 145 reps where we messed up or kept messing up so that helps. remember wild tard it's not how many.... but quality. peace chicken lips

I don't disagree; I've always believed that "practice makes permanent; perfect practice make perfect". Sure, some plays will be "busts" but high reps and good reps are by no means mutually exclusive. "Techniques" are generally learned and practiced in position drills. Repping plays in scrimmage is more about "team execution" than individual "technique". Furthermore, scrimmages are generally scripted and tightly controlled. In the spring I saw CBP blow up on a couple of student managers for moving the chains when that part of the scrimmage was focused on repping a particular down and distance situation.

Regarding the underscored point in CatDaddys post, I noted on the Cardinal board that what little bit I have been able to see of summer practice it looked like it was moving at a (much) faster pace than in the spring. Other than that one open scrimmage back in the spring I have not seen "how" Dawson coaches and, given the apparent direction this year toward a fast "paste" offense, I am curious about he teaches it. FWIW, I did not think that spring scrimmage was particularly fast paced but neither were the Cards back in the spring.

Peace

I hope Badet is fine. Would love to see him injury free for a change. I don't see how you play or practice football without injuries. It's a pretty violent game. When you get hit as much as these guys do, you are going to get hurt. When you hear things like West being a future pro and being compared to Lewis, it only can mean great things for the future. Lets keep Boom away from contact until fully healed. Can't afford to lose him so early on. Keep that kid in the golfcart until game time.

After watching the interview, I didn't think Westry looked like he was limping

And, yet, after the scrimmage and his success there, he was moved to practice with the ones. That should provide a significant measure of comfort to observant fans like you.
