Tubby Smith

The ADs at both schools like Tubby if he had the energy-doesn't have it. I have heard that he may be interested in the NCAA job when the current idiot leaves?

Tubby wouldn't do that. Has more respect for UK than to come back and coach a conference rival.

Going from UGA to UK is one thing. There is only one guy who could win a title and then years down the road come back and coach a rival.

I wouldn't put a whole lot of stock into his Minnesota and Tech stops. Those programs are pretty pitiful.

I would like to see him end his career at a mid major. I think he could do well outside of the power 5 conference ranks, where the game is still largely heavily dependent on coaching and not so much about popular tempo and style of play, Mcdonald's all americans and first round draft picks.

If Tommy Amaker can get Harvard to the big dance, Tubby could take a number of similar programs dancing.

Maybe at UT if they want some stability and are willing to admit that they suck and will accept mediocrity as long as that they have someone who will be a media darling and not get them in NCAA trouble.

Why do you care where Tubby is or goes or whatever? As long as he isn't here, that is all that matters.

Tubby is 63 ..he has said 2 years and he retires to the house he kept in Lexington when he left for Minnesota.

Why on earth would you want to live in a city where 400,000 people don't want you?
You have no clue. Tubby was loved here. Not loved so much as a coach but as a person. Most of the 400,000 would welcome him back home for his retirement. There would be a handful of dumbazzes who wouldn't want him back but hey.....you are alway gonna have to deal with dumbazzes wherever you go.

I live in Lexington. At best, people just don't care about him. He had a chance. When he booked a flight, abandoned his players without saying goodbye, and never returned...he burned that chance. Now he isn't wanted. Sorry. You're welcome to kiss his ass if you like, but you're one of the few.

Heard C.M. Newton is playing a role in the coaching search for Bama. Talking head said if Bama washes out on Plan A, Richard Pitino's name will be in play. Don't see why Tubby's wouldn't be either.
