Just had a helmet to helmet hit by their DB Randolph, who then stood over the receiver and taunted him, but no flag. That was followed by a long TD pass by their QB to make it 21-0. Things are looking bad because TU is looking good.

They have a couple of five stars in their 15 class and are ranked 5th nationally currently, UK has a lot of ground to make up due to 60 plus years of neglect.

jauk, don't know if you know. Their frosh RB Hurd was cited for underage drinking a few weeks ago when he was found passed out in a parking garage at 2am. Never missed a beat. More things change there the more they stay the same.

Don't look now Big 10...rocky top...

how about that SEC east...

People are losing their sh*t on Finebaum...Buckeyes act like last night game was the NC and that they don't have to play Oregon...

Bama fans think the dynasty is over...ole Paul himself questioned whether the dynasty was over "haven't won a bowl game or NC in two years..."...Christ...I though rupps rafters and the big blue nation was crazy...

Still don't know how UT, a team that lost 6 of their last 9 games and who thumped our ass when UK decided not to show up, then turn around and lose at home to Missouri before finally struggling to beat the worst team in the SEC to get bowl eligible, manage to draw the 2d poorest Big10 team for a bowl. Amazing.

Well, at least ole Rotten Crotch is taking care of business and not embarrassing the conference like our brethren from the west. The SEC-East has performed quite well during bowl season.

I don't know....looks pretty evenly matched on paper. Iowa is 7-5 (4-4)...UT 6-6 (3-5). Both teams finished fourth in their respective divisions.

UT just has a lot to play for.....first bowl game in years....carrying the SEC banner in a bad bowl year for the conference.

Yeah, he just made a nice run for a TD earlier.

Was he in a car, I thnk that is a DUI locally (or everywhere), but maybe only if the key is on.

But no, hadn't read about it, they keep a pretty good lid on things, jurich probably took a course on it at TU.

Halftime, score is 35-7.

Coincidence or not, 98% sure it isn't, but I left the Pitt Houston game when it was 35-7 Pitt to take a friend on an errand, I had a small bet on Houston, but gave up.

I just heard the score, and Houston came back to win 37-35, amazing!!!

Too bad it only happens once a year or so.

What this game says to me is that UTee is getting better quickly and that the B1G middle of the pack teams are very, very weak.
It also says that we may have missed a great chance to fill the vacuum caused by Tennessee and Florida sucking at the same time in the Eastern division. The lesson here? NO MORE COACHES IN WAITING!!!!!

It is a DUI in Tennessee if the person in the vehicle has control of the vehicle. The car does not have to be turned on. It basically means that the car must be in working order and you must have the ability to control the car. So, sleeping it off with they keys in your pocket is typically a charge for DUI. Of course, if someone else was in the car in the driver's seat then that might be why he only got underage consumption.

What I think is ridiculous is that his initial appearance isn't until January 20th. That seems very unusual to me.

Personally, I don't have a problem with underage consumption. A whole lot of people drank in college before they were legally allowed to do so. However, if you play football and get caught doing this then you should be punished. Hurd should have missed at least a quarter or a half of this bowl game. Once again shows me how Tennessee runs their dirty, win at all costs, program.

Thanks for the explanation, kind of like I thought it was, but some states might give you a break for sleeping it off instead of driving. Back in the old days when DUI was often laughed off instead of possibly ruining your life one of our guys at the company parties would call the police to take him home after the party, kind of like they have now, way before his time.

The reason I call them TU is a friend of mine was a security guard at a local casino where two guys were caught on camera kicking a guy while he was down, and he didn't go to the hospital with a concussion like one of the TWO victims of the EIGHT thug football players. But the two were charged with attempted murder, while the eight thugs didn't even get a parking ticket, in fact I think they got a limousine ride home.

But alas, the OIC FORGOT (must have flunked his evidence gathering basics class) to collect the surveillance tapes, which, alas, weren't any good the next morning.

I still think those tapes were worth a small fortune to Dooley or a big TU booster.

Hurd was not in car

Investigation report. http://www.rockytopinsider.com/2014/12/18/full-story-jalen-hurds-citation/

Not good for UK I keep saying missing a bowl after starting 5-1 is a big loss. uT on the uprise, extra practice good for recruiting.

That is not an investigation report. It is just a search of the docket. The rest of the stuff is just speculation on what might have happened.

Again... the thing I find interesting... first off... he was cited in December and he doesn't have an actual first appearance until January 20th. Even more interesting... it is at 7:30 in the morning. So they are giving him a special appearance that is 30 minutes before the Knoxville City/County Building is even open. I guess he just enjoys the privileges of a UT football player.

Don't complain, it is amazing that he was cited for anything.

Thought this was interesting from the report: "The unconscious individual was transported to the hospital for precautionary reasons. Neither Hurd nor the unconscious individual ever drove the vehicle while drinking."

Let's see, it was Hurd's car, he admits he had been drinking, his friend can't make it out of the car and was probably (hopefully) in the passenger seat, but they "know" neither Hurd or the unconscious individual ever drove the vehicle while drinking?

How do they "know" this, why, because Hurd told them so I assume, and you know he would never lie.

Frankly I thing your persistence in referring to UT as TU is silly.

However, you are a very positive contributor to this forum and I appreciate you posts.

Thats much nicer than what its called on my home board. UFK, University of Football at Knoxville. They got that name for the chair stacking classes football players were taking, that has to rank right up there with our beginning basketball classes Harrick Jr. was more or less teaching.

Yeah, I remember Harrick, actually a very good record everywhere he went after the first year, and an NCAA crown at UCLA, where he also got in trouble, hard to say how much of his record was due to cheating. I looked up his record and found this item at Georgia: "Harrick, Jr. was given a seven-year show-cause penalty order for his role in the academic fraud, as well as telling two of the players involved to lie to the NCAA. The "show-cause" effectively blackballed him from the college ranks until 2011 at the earliest."

Looks like he could have stayed at Georgia like hurtt at UL except they fired him, weird that the NCAA didn't give hurtt a lifetime sentence instead of a "retroactive" two year ban, considering all he was involved with at the U------not to mention what he probably got away with at UL. Another difference in Georgia and UL, they fire their cheaters and UL can't afford to, LOL.

The TU incident with EIGHT players involved in actions that would have had you and I facing attempted murder charges, with a SECOND kicking of an off duty police officer while down was probably among the worst reported incident in sports history, and the coverup and lack of punishment might have been even worse. When you take into account the long history of cheating and coverups at UFK (I like that) I think the TU title is well deserved AND should not be soon forgotten, hence my repeating it when given the opportunity.
