Plug him in as backup pg. Surely he can give us more production than this:

Perry, while a great shooter, is no where near ready defensively at this point. Not even close. There's more the playing than just shooting.
Kriisa also is no where near ready defensively. I don’t want to give up on the guy already but I’d sure like to see some of the 40% 3PT shooting and 4+ assists per game I thought we were getting. He’s going to have to start playing better or Pope will have to remove him from the rotation one way or another.

Still way early. Like you said, don't wanna give up yet. You have to think he's better than his showing the last game or two.

It's always surprised me how you can thoroughly dominate KY HS basketball and only be a Bellermaine level talent.
I hope that's not the case with Perry and Noah but just watching them warm up they just don't move like Chandler does.
Let's face it, when you're an unathletic white kid you have to be a little salty on the court like Sparks and Padgett were.
I see that in Trent more than I do Travis.
I'm all for giving Travis the "Boley" treatment and throwing him in a sink or swim moment.
That's the only way you can tell if he got another gear in him.

Kriisa has had 4 years in college to be way better than he is on D. Tuesday night was hard to watch when he was on the floor.
You can’t have that arrogant swag that he plays with and then play like that.
I wouldn’t mind seeing Perry get a few minutes here and there to see how he does.
And even more so for Chandler. Think he will have a bigger role as season goes on.

I’m excited for Perry’s future, but he has hardly gotten any run in the regular season. Which leads me to believe that the staff doesn’t think he is ready for this level (just yet). Nothing wrong with letting a normal freshman grow and get use to the college game.

I do think Kerr needs to be told to reign it in some. He’s best when he’s out running and finding guys, not chucking up a bunch of long 3s.

Pope has tried to get Krissa for about 6 years now. He loves the kid. Point blank.

Perry is not ready, step slower than Krissa. Better decision maker that Krissa. Better shooter by all means. Answer is Butler stays out of foul trouble and Krissa is a change of pace decision. Otherwise you better develop Oweh (which does not have the handles for a PG, Robinsion or Chandler. Those are the only options that are even close to game ready right now.

Could ruin whatever confidence any of them have. Also could turn from almost made it to beat downs.
The all time leading scorer in KY HS basketball history and state champion shouldn't have confidence issues.
Patrick Sparks came into Rupp as a first semester WKU frosh and help lead his team to an upset victory.
If you've got it you got it.
Don't know yet if Perry is the next Sparks or the next Brandon Stockton.

If you want to destroy Perry’s confidence, sure, go ahead and throw him out there to the wolves so the “Play them Kentucky boys” people will be happy. Let the kids develop!

Btw, I’d love for Perry to play like Ashcroft from Creighton in the future, undersized combo guard who never stops moving, has insane range and a green light to fire.

Some of you aren’t Kentucky fans and are KHSAA fans. If you’ve been watching Perry in blue so far and thought what we really need is more, I’m not sure if we have access to the same film

This. Didn't take long for the internet keyboard warriors to start pining for their KY Boys even if it means losing more games.

Pope knows more than you do OP. Let him decide if and when Perry will get more minutes.
I don’t live in Kentucky so I couldn’t care less where the kid’s from. I want productivity.

Been a fan since late 60’s. Live in Florida and haven’t seem a KHSAA game in 40 years. I’ve seen enough of Krissa though and he’s not that guy.

If you’re a fan of Kentucky, then let the Kentucky coach (who is smarter than all of us) choose the rotations. Perry’s time will come but it for damn sure ain’t right now. My guess is if Kerr keeps tanking, Jaxson Robinson gets time as backup PG as Pope is already talking about that as of his post game presser. Put no pressure on people who aren’t ready yet

Do you think Cal destroyed Devin Askew's confidence or he just didn't have it.
Judging his body of work at 3 different schools I'll say he just didn't have it.
Guys like Sparks, Epps, or Hawkins would have been pissed off they didn't get in the game if they were in Perry's position with Kerr playing like he did and the team ultimately losing the game.

Never said he's ready.
Question if he will ever be

How am I not letting Pope coach? It’s an observation and opinion. Chill

My apologies. Perhaps my retort was a tad much. You do understand this “play Perry” crap has started to swell from a lot of unreasonable fans so my biting remark might have been directed to the movement rather than you personally. Our offense really runs on total team buy in. Things like favoritism for freshman who aren’t ready could threaten to tear apart the team. That’s my concern

Who asking for favoritism?
Bottom line Kerr is not getting it done and Perry is supposed to be good
We're not talking about a freshmen Jarrod Polson but about our reigning Mr Basketball and state champion who was a top 75 player nationally.

I think Perry is absolutely ready for some minutes on the offensive end. Kid is a dynamite shooter. As far as defense, I’m not sure. We could mix some zone defenses and such to go with the regular defense and possibly keep him safe from getting taken advantage of in the floor. He might be a touch better than thought on D though. Not Liggins caliber, but I do know Kriisa is probably a bit of a liability. Love his spunkiness and energy, but the results are not good when he’s out there.

The only flaw in the logic of the " bring him along slow" sentiment is that if he continues to sit next to Walker Horn all season, Pope has no choice but to get a starter level PG from the portal to compete with Acaden.
Perry will be looking at third string again.
Acaden most likely returns for a soph year so if Pope signs a stud point in 26 the Perry is buried again and probably hits the portal.

If he isn’t better than a portal PG and doesn’t want to earn his time then he isn’t about the team and needs to find the portal asap. Trust the process

Sounds like “We can’t take their Hearts” gibberish. Pope said in hindsight he would have left Butler in longer. Kerr is going to be an All or Nothing guy, and in about 5 minutes you can tell what he is going to bring to the game. If it’s like last game have Carr or Robinson bring the ball up the court to set up the offense.

A lot of guys you've seen in the past " trust the process" didn't have to look over their shoulder for a portal guys at their position.
Who's to say Pitino wouldn't have tried to upgrade over Epps if he had the portal.
Remember Lamont Butler is a portal PG and if Pope can reel in another of his caliber in the spring it's a big hill to climb for Perry.

I’m a fan of Kentucky. My job as a fan is to cheer on the program. If Perry isn’t good enough to play, he needs to work harder to get good enough to play period. You sound biased as can be. Either hold UK first or quit pretending to be a fan. Why would a Uk fan ever be upset if we upgraded a position with a better player? (It’s a rhetorical question)

I was hoping he would get a few of Kerr’s minutes in the second half. No way he would have been worse than Kerr (who had an offensive rating of ZERO and wasn’t playing defense). Might of even lit a fire under Kerr’s hind end.
