Trae Young put up another 50+ point effort this weekend. Kid is a beast and it seems Coach Cal wants him as the headlining PG for the 2017 recruiting class.

Has anyone seen him play to be able to compare him to other PGs?

I watched him when he was in Lexington for Nike. Caught my attention immediately when I went to watch his AAU teammate Michael Porter. Outstanding quick and slippery player who is probably the second best shooter in the class behind Trent Jr. I think he's a slightly better version of Duke PG Tyus Jones for a comparison.

I think UK lands at least three of these guys as Cal will have a ton of playing time to sell them on once Fox and company leave after one season in Lexington. Bring back veterans in SKJ, Humphries, Wynyard, Matthews and UK will be loaded once again '17-18.

If he's better than Tyus Jones, that's saying something.

Jones was the top PG in what turned out to be an outstanding recruiting class, and it's easy to forget just how good he was at Duke. I suspect that Young is a better shooter, but Jones was an absolutely outstanding ballhandler and passer (217 assists to 76 TO's). If Young can match him there, then we may be looking at a Steph Curry in the making.

Young would be a changeup at the point from Cal's usual preference for big athletes, but I'd love to see it. I hate to side with some of the bigger idiot trolls who roam this board, but I do think it's time for Cal to put a little more emphasis on shooting. That's just the way the game is going, college and pro. It's simply too easy for teams to negate size/athleticism disadvantages if you don't have enough shooters on the floor to spread them out.

Don't get your hopes up for Trent..imo goes to Duke
