It does matter when you are already ranked and win you can move up. If you aren’t ranked it is hard to advance even if you deserve it.

So much for rankings. Basically if UK beats Florida in the Swamp they get SEC respect and will be on their way to a good season. It’s awful to say but to gain National respect the Florida game is a must win. Must win games that are the second game of the season suck.

That is true for the first half of the season.

Lose to UF and finish 11-1, 10-2, or 9-3 with a bowl win, and we finish bowl season ranked higher than 20th.

But UF is real important, early, and the easiest path to a 9-3 (or better) record.

Define "is." I'd argue that both Tennessee and Nebraska were powers maybe 20 to 25 years ago but have long since seen their better days
