Towles named starter

Good. Now it is on to ULL. Patrick will have a hell of a year this year as long as our Offensive Line allows him time to make throws.
Congrats to Patrick. The improved line will be a big help to his production. Not to mention the vastly improved receivers. I have always been one to think the back up QB needs to get game time reps. You never know when he will be called upon. We are fortunate to have 2 very good QB's.
No news here, anyone that thought Barker would be the starter needs their head checked. Towles is our guy! Gonna have a HUGE year!
This is about the most non-surprising news ever, but great news for Towles for it to become official.
I hope there are multiple opportunities for Barker to get playing time - we may need him but also means UK is comfortably out in front. And, not the hand off to the RB 3 times for 3 consecutive series. I mean running the offense just like we would need him to if PT gets dinged up.
I have a feeling Towles is going to lead this offense over the next two years to numbers similar to, if not better than what Andre Woodson did his last two seasons in Lexington. He has skill guys all over the field to get the ball to. Defenses are going to be forced to cover sideline to sideline.
Woodson's improvement was coincident with the addition of a true QB coach (Randy Sanders) to the staff. Anyone take notice of the fact that Dawson played QB in college and is a long time QB coach?

Yeah, it isn't surprising. But it amazing if you are on Twitter the number of national CFB accounts/reporters that are releasing this as big huge important news. Guess it is a testament to Stoops raising the profile of our program, that we are a school that important folks are keeping an eye on.
