This. The buyout details is all that would really matter combined with our own buyout if it wasn’t at the end of Cals natural tenureMaxes out at $6 million/yr. Not enough to keep us away if it came to that.
He is really going to get exposed in the Big 12 next year. He has feasted on a poor pathetic downtrodden PAC 12 conference while getting exposed in the NCAA tournament every year. Dude is baby Cal….an elite recruiter with insane international contacts who is a poor bench coach especially in tight games.Thoughts…
If you go read Arizona fans' complaints about Lloyd they're almost exactly what you've read here about Cal.Dude is baby Cal
Agreed, but he has to prove himself before I want him here. Just my 2 centsHe’s 49. 60+ wins his first two seasons as a coach. In line for a one seed again this year.
Good recruiter. Uptempo style. Offense/Defense balance.
I’m willing to bet that he has some deep tournament runs in his future.
I watched all those games. I think the list of coaches who could do this job and might be available is short. He’s on it, imo.Agreed, but he has to prove himself before I want him here. Just my 2 cents
When he was a 1 seed he had to go to OT to beat a 9 seed TCU only to lose to 5 seed Houston the next game in sweet 16. Then lost in first round last year as a 2 seed to 25 seed Princeton.
Agree with this.I watched all those games. I think the list of coaches who could do this job and might be available is short. He’s on it, imo.
Just for the record, I had Houston rated as the third best team going into the tournament in ‘22. That was a bad draw.
Houston has obviously proven how good they were and still are.I watched all those games. I think the list of coaches who could do this job and might be available is short. He’s on it, imo.

My thoughts… Cal better get his out of his ass and win a title.Thoughts…
Agree with this.
He's #1 or #2. In 2 full seasons at AZ, they have been a 4 seed and a 1 seed. They're on pace for a 2 seed this year.
In 2 full seasons, he's gone to the Sweet 16.
The people saying he hasn't done enough in the tournament also don't want Scott Drew--who has a championship.
I think either guy is a slam dunk, and would be ecstatic for it. I worry Lloyd is a west coast guy, and will ride the Arizona job until UCLA or Gonzaga come calling.
They should have lost that game to TCU. There were 1 or 2 very questionable calls that went against TCU either end of regulation or end of OT as I recall.Agreed, but he has to prove himself before I want him here. Just my 2 cents

He's been a head coach maybe 3 years. Look up Cal's first few years.Guy has won 2 NCAA tournament games ever and lost in first round last year. No thanks.

I completely understand. That's why I said he needs to prove himself before I'd want him here. He's been a head coach maybe 3 years. Look up Cal's first few years.
Not at all. Not my point, at all. My point is, it takes time when you're the head guy to get things going. K started very rough at Duke. They had been to multiple FFs when he took over.Comparing UMass to Arizona now are we? Comical.
I agree to certain degree. But, neither Hall nor Tubby had done much when they came to UKI completely understand. That's why I said he needs to prove himself before I'd want him here.
Arizona is a better job than UCLA or Gonzaga, and it isn't even close.Agree with this.
