Tom Izzo says John Calipari has finally been accepted

Probably took a lot of humility to heap that kind of praise at Cal, when he hasn't even been considered for the HOF yet. Major props to that guy! Class act!

As already mentioned, now that K has embraced the OAD you rarely hear anything about the system, it's negatives, or the fact that it's "destroying purity".

But there's no bias. Oh no.

Izzo is a lock for the hall of fame, one of the great coaches of the era. "Only" one title, but 7 Final Fours in 20 seasons as a head coach is incredible success, and while Michigan State was hardly a nobody, they did only have 2 Final Fours and 4 Elite 8s before Izzo took over.

Izzo has always been a class act and a good coach, nice to see another coach telling what we have known all along[thumb2]

Great thing for Izzo to say about Cal whom he has to compete with for recruits. Izzo has always seemed like a classy guy and this is just another example of that. As someone else mentioned above, Izzo making these remarks when he hasn't received the same honor himself yet speaks for his humbleness and class. He is one who also deserves to be in the Hall and hope he is recognized very soon.

Ha,izzo has been a dick towards Cal and UK.has thrown enough jabs at us about oad, screw him.
If you notice from the quote that started this thread he does envy all the great players that Cal has been able to recruit, but he also recognizes and gives props to Cal for molding that talent into a team that can compete for championships year in and out.
