Why wouldn't he be? I'm not a Tipton fan, but he's the UK beat writer and the coach is going to the HoF...I'd be shocked if he wasn't there.
He would not be the beat man if UK stood up to the lying dude and not give him a press pass.

I don't think some of you understand how media works.
UK can't pick and choose who covers a national event. The LHL sent the UK beat writer to cover the HoF. It's not UK's call in anything credential-related other than maybe home games. And, even if UK didn't want Tipton there, it's a public event, so in theory he could buy a ticket and still cover the game. He would be reimbursed by the paper in that instance.

Tipton also - expectantly - struggles with technology. Kyle Tucker usually has all the info out and in better detail a half hour to an hour before Tipton.

I have a friend who relishes in every UK downfall . . . . he is basically a raincloud looking for a parade. What I love about it is he doesn't get to clap very often lately. He and Tipton should become besties. They could have each other for consolation during those long droughts.

UK can cut all access off to anything UK for Jerry.. Refusing him access in Rupp,, refuse to answer any questions wherever,, etc.. And that's what needs to be done.. Force the herald to get rid of him..
You know how we always make fun of programs for their petty actions? That's exactly what cutting of Tipton would be.
Tipton is ugly. He's a bitter little toad of a man that covers young athletes in the prime of their lives and is so envious that it makes his warts glow. He writes about things he could never do himself and his hate and jealousy shine through accordingly. His pain, the torture of being himself, is all that keeps him going. If he didn't hate and in return receive hate, then he would have nothing.

I loathe Tipton as much as the next guy but if UK cut him off, the state and national media would circle the wagons, crucify us and turn Tipton into a martyr. The cure would be worse than the disease. It's best just to try and ignore him, no one reads that rag anyway.
What I find funny is that Tipton has become a complete joke. He has tried to create a story by badgering Mr Patterson, making up a story about Patrick driving his truck home from a game, asking inappropriate questions of players, etc.
But, on the positive side, when uninformed people try to tell me that Cal cheats, I explain to them that Cal is being watched constantly and stones are being overturned on a regular basis by Tipton who is hoping one day that he can find some kind of dirt to give meaning to his pathetic life. Tipton has found nothing.
Ironically, Tipton's failures are UK's successes! Keep digging, Jerry, keep digging. You might one day break a big story that a UK player got a free pizza!
