If I am going to give him hell when he doesn't play well, it is only fair to give him credit when he plays well. The second half of this game was the best he has played as a UK player because the buckets came after Bama made their run.

Briscoe is capable of hitting some 2 point jumpers...he's not much from 3 or the FT line (Boggles my mind on this one), but he can give us offense other than layups if he gains confidence. We need him to give us more. The team played very well tonight and won by 16 despite again getting nothing from Skal (which is fine when Poy scores 25 but how many times will that happen the rest of the way?) and 0 points from Willis, who at times is a good scorer off the bench. I was very pleased tonight overall.

So has he found his shot staring tonight ? If he could work on his f/t's he could average double points a game easy.

If he just simply shoots the ball without thinking about the previous shot, he might just be able to shoot well enough to make the defense play him honestly.

He may do better if he starts shooting his FT's with one hand. Worth a try.

Gotta give it to him. Takes balls to keep shooting like that IMO.

I mean, I wish he wouldn't most of the time, lol, but still, nads.

In high school, he was one of the most confident guys I've ever seen. After he hit that one step back, you could just see his whole game change and he started gaining confidence.

Cal said it best; he starts making those shots and it takes this team to another level.

When Briscoe hit that three but it was waived off because of a foul call, I was thinking "Damn, he finally made one and it doesn't even count". I think seeing a jump shot finally fall helped with his confidence because he seemed start hitting everything (except free throws) after that.

Bench him..... hey...it has been strongly suggested from Cat fans.

I saw him in a high school game on ESPN and he was a solid shooter. He plays great D and played within himself on offense I hope it is the beginning of good things

I noticed right away on the first shot he made that it had a better arc. The same on the other shots. He was putting more arc on his shot. That usually makes your shot softer but his were swishing. Good to see and hope he can continue to be a threat so teams won't lay off him.

Agreed...I'm not the biggest Briscoe fan but if he starts canning the 15 footers...that changes us offensively.

Hopefully he builds on this game. All of our guys who were called out, after the LSU game, stepped up in a big way tonight.

Yeah, the arc on some of his shots reminded me of James Blackmon.

The key for Briscoe and Poy and Lee and everyone really is being consistent. If they can do that most nights, UK will be in a much better position to do well come March.

It was simply refreshing to see that the players had some fight in them. I don't want any of our players fighting, but it is refreshing to see they care enough to take care of business if necessary. By the way, that garbage of picking up Ulis should have been flagrant because it wasn't a normal basketball play. It had the chance of starting an on court brawl.

yes, where has THIS guy been? If he does this every game, we are headed for the FF. I do wish he would spend HOURS at the free throw line though......

I wish he would simply do whatever he did at the half that gave him the confidence to play as he did in the second half. Those were big time shots. It isn't easy to hit shots when the defense steps back to invite you to take the shot.

Im not as high on Briscoe as others, but he played well tonight. We dont have a lot of other options.

I think when Cal said when the struggles were on him but the players have to buy in he was mainly talking about Briscoe. He's had to change the way plays as far as going north south and not doing all the shimmy shake he did in high school. If everything that worked for you in high school is being coached out of you, I can see how it might affect other facets of his game. When he made that impossible turnaround, you can just see how much better he felt afterwards. Props to him for staying confident.

AB is just not catch and shoot guy.

I really hope he sticks to pull up jumpers off dribble penetration.

Every time he would shoot, how many were going "No!No!.....Yes!"
Hope he builds on this game and works on those damned free throws.

Very happy to see him hitting those shots. He was more controlled, I thought - not so many crazy drives.
