I have zero problem losing a guy like Reed of Dilly to the draft. If you’re a borderline first rounder - go! I’d tell my kid to make that money.
What confuses me are guys who are not on draft boards or are barely on them declaring for the draft. Decisions by these guys just make me say what the heck:
Then there are the guys who left for the portal that I really wish had stayed:
It’s the combination of all these that make me care less and less. I used to know all the players. Now I look back on rosters and struggle to remember anything about some of them (quick: name one memorable thing Livingston did).
Part of the decline in caring is because we have been groomed to lose our entire team each year. I long for the days of Delk, Bogans, Prince, Fitch, and Hayes who gave their all for multiple years. Shoot, even Rondo gave us two years!
