at #60. Do you think he will actually be drafted?

Teams that can afford to speculate on a 2nd round pick would be a fool not to take him. Too much raw talent and heart to pass up.

I just don't think it'll happen. He'll be a free agent signing and eventually go abroad.

Emoni Bates at #56. Wow, wasn't he supposed to be next in line and the future face of the NBA? Good job Penny!

For a guy who, at best, is barely draftable, if he was making the kind of NIL demands that are rumored, then I really don't care to hear him about him going forward.

I agree. There will be athletic guys like Toppin, or shooters available to be signed as FA's. But there is no other rebounder like Oscar. Maybe he doesn't make it, but that can be said of EVERY 2nd round pick.

Miami Heat is giving MPB Cody Zeller minutes in the Finals, if Riles passes on him in the 2nd round, I’m gonna… I’m not gonna do shit, but he shouldn’t do that.

The problem is, Oscar does poorly in other areas. He's not a rim protector, he gives up a lot of points. So a guy who gets lots of rebounds, but doesn't play defense and can't create his own shot or facilitate to others, is about to not get drafted. He should have come back.

A lot of players will have their agent tell teams not to draft them in the mid/late 2nd round so they can then sign wherever they want as a UDFA.

Odds are this'll happen with Oscar. If he isn't drafted top 40 or so, his agent will just tell people not to draft and he'll sign as a UDFA with one of the teams he's worked out with and presumably got a promise from.

He is mobile and strong. So there is no reason he can't play decent defense. He just needs to put as much focus on that as he does rebounding. Most players bad at defense are so because they don't care about defense and only want to focus on offense.

He also has a decent looking shot, which I said all season (but Cal wouldn't let him extend it out), which he has show in NBA workouts. Like Cousins did, like AD did, like Randle did, like KAT did, like Bam did, like Richards did, none of whom Cal let shoot from outside.

But if you want a guy with all (or most) of the tools, then that guy is going in the 1st round (not the 2nd round). All the 2nd round guys have "flaws", so you are taking a chance on them. But his 1 skill is elite at a level that comes around at most once a decade. And a team with good shooters would love to have someone like him grabbing their 3pt misses and giving them another shot. IN this draft, even the top 10 guys are mostly flawed, with I think 6 of the projected top 10 guys who shoot 3's in the 20-29% range.

If he doesn't get drafted he will definitely get a 2 way contract. He would play in the G League but get called up if his team needs him. Teams need rebounding so my guess is he gets picked in the late 2nd round.

He does have a pretty shot, but his release is slow as molasses. If he was going to ever play decent defense, he already would have. I bet that's what Huggins was referring to.

Come back to do what? At this point he is what he is. The only thing that could possibly help his stock a little is showing the ability to consistently hit the three, and we've seen no such thing.

Oscar is going to make an impact.

But, it's like in Baseball Homeruns fill the seats....not particularly any other stat...

Oscar can get rebounds like Dennis Rodman or Kenneth Faried....

Do fans want to see rebounds more or scorers?

I believe Oscar gets drafted. If not drafted he will be under contract with an NBA the next day. And he's going to have a long NBA career. I won't be surprised for Livingston to be drafted either. Possibly even first round.

It's these guys dreams to play in the NBA. That's nothing new. Back when I played everyone on the team dreamed of playing in the NBA. None of us were good enough but it was still a dream. They have a chance to live their dream. I want them all to stay at UK until every minute of eligibility is gone. But you can't fault a man for chasing his dream.

Did you even watch him play? I swear.

Problems:

He does not play defense. He does not create his own shot.

Solutions:

Learn to be a rim protector, keep your ass under the basket, don't get caught over top on P&R's. Learn to draw contact under the basket.

The guy is older than he / his handler's claims to be. He's not going to stick in the NBA if he gets drafted. It seems he wants to bring his mother to the US. UK needs him, he's loved here, and can make NIL.

You for Oscar or UK?

Of course I want him back. But as far as draft stock goes he is what he is. He ain't getting taller or any more agile. Lord knows Cal ain't gonna ever zone to help him out. He's never gonna be a "rim protector " lol, it's not his game. Literally just like you said, all coming back would do for him would add another year of wear and tear on someone who's presumably a little older than he claims.

Now does that mean I don't want him back at UK, obviously not. We NEEDED him once we whiffed Dickenson. Of course I want him back. I'm merely talking about draft stock.
