And here’s why I think that.
1) the fanbase was collective in wanting BCG gone. He brought nothing to the table, publicly bad mouth our star player on national tv, locked players in the bathroom, and was a raging alcoholic. We all as BBN wanted BCG gone. Easy choice.
2) we knew what was going to happen. We knew there was no way he was coming back and had a clear candidate. Now there were some against Cal initially, but overwhelmingly, BBN wanted Cal.
3) It wasn’t hard to sway a guy from Memphis who just went to a NC two years prior. Even just going to the championship, it’s a pretty easy to pull someone then.
There is just so much division right now and animosity towards the coach, media, and each other. This feels way worse.
