This Is Why You Foul with a 3 Point lead…..

Well. FL probably would have made one and missed the 2nd on purpose. Then got the rebound and won in regulation. But I still wish UK would've fouled there.

I have rarely ever seen fouling in that situation not lead to a win. Cal consistently gets out coached by the younger coaches and Barnes and Pearl. The game has passed him by a long time ago. We have been totally embarrassed the last 4 years. So many bad losses especially in Rupp.

One thing I was also saying at the end of regulation when Rob got fouled...

WHY DID REED INBOUND THE BALL?!?!

Let Rob or Mitchell inbound and GET THE DAMN BALL TO REED FOR THE FTS!!!

BUT NO, Reed inbounds the ball to Dillingham who gets fouled, who then misses the FT.

You HAVE TO....and I cannot stress this enough...you HAVE TO call a timeout after the first made FT, get your team together, and say, "If Rob misses this next one, foul as soon as they cross half court".

You HAVE TO DO THAT.

Cal didn't.

And we lost.
Proof Cal is stubborn AF: he lost a literal national championship not following this logic and instead of learning from it, he’s decided to double down. His stubbornness has and will cost him from being an all time great.

That’s called coaching. A concept cal is not familiar with,

You have to foul up 3 and let UF shoot a 1 and 1. However, what is Sheppard doing watching the play unfold well inside the arc allowing his player to get a clean catch and look. Reminds me of the game a few years ago against Vandy - UK up 3 at the end of the game and Diallo left his man (Vandy's best 3 point shooter) to contest a layup of which the Vandy player passed it out to the wide open player for a 3 pointer at the buzzer. Luckily he missed, but the UK's understanding of game situation by the players on the floor is poor.
