some deep sore red ass in gooeyvill:
83ulcard83---i truly mean it, what do we get out of this game? The officiating is always 1 sided towards UK, it's UK's Super Bowl, it gives them a quality win right before their practice (oops I mean $EC) schedule starts and it gives UK bragging rights which makes them insufferable.
When we were in the Metro and C-USA we needed this game. We don't need it anymore. I'd prefer to dump UK and replace them with another national power that could rotate. We could play Indiana, Ohio State, UCLA, Gonzaga, Kansas, etc. We could bring back the Cincinnati series. I would argue UK needs the game more. We are in the ACC, nationally recognized as a power, generate more revenue than any other school and have the best college basketball arena in the country. Someone tell me why we need UK anymore?
I would be okay with a neutral site compromise. Play the game in Louisville but make it neutral site, 50:50 fan allotment, we don't get to use our regular locker rooms, you could even paint over the court like the NCAA does for tourney games. If UK doesn't want to do that then maybe play at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville or Banker's Life Fieldhouse in Indy and make it a 50:50 split.
Whatever the solution is it is time to Tom Jurich to re-evaluate the future of this series. As I stated I think it shod go to a neutral site or be cancelled. We should never allow the UofL-UK game to be played in Rupp Arena ever again.
