The Tre Mitchell Curse

Cal deciding to run the offense through Mitchell in the 1H of the Oakland game after Mitchell had spent the prior 2 months looking like one of the worst players in the country was so egregiously bad I genuinely questioned if he was trying to tank the game.
Such a strange decision. Like, it's a good approach to attacking a zone, but we hadn't played post up ball all year, and you expect your freshmen riddled team to be able to switch play styles like that? All that on top of Tre being AWOL as you said.

Without any shadow of a doubt, he kept a bead on what UK fans wanted and did the exact opposite on purpose.

Trying to see if he could collect $33 million to sit at home I reckon.

With him admitting to the UCLA stuff and the Ohio St rumors, along with the last few years the thought has crossed my mind if he was angling to force us to pay his buyout.

I don't believe that, but it crossed my mind, since getting out of Lexington has been on his mind for a while.

I think he read the Kampe quotes prior to the game about how UK was a good matchup for them because we didn't have a post presence that would get us easy baskets around the rim.

Basically got goaded into it. That's my theory but maybe that's giving him too much credit.
