Nope. I think Billy is gone after this season. Testing the NBA waters. Was always only a matter of time.

I think Foley goes after Shaka Smart. He coached at Florida under Donovan. No idea who would be next in line though.

Love the smack talk!! Cats will win big. Gators are just ready for the season to end and at some point they will stop the death roll, lie on their back and prepare to be gutted. I actually wish Florida was a better team this year and would have presented a valid challenger in the SEC. Hopefully, they can come back to form next year.

Yes, I know. I initially thought that you were ThreeHogNights dressed in Orange and Blue. Kentucky ended the three-game streak in Gainesville. I expect Florida to play closer than people think, although I expect Kentucky to win. I think Florida is better than their record shows, but 12 out of 30 games for Florida have been in OT, or decided by 4 points or fewer (Florida is 5-7 in such games). Florida has been really disappointing, and Billy hasn't done a good job this year. Florida is flirting with a losing record; unless they beat Kentucky tomorrow, they will have a losing regular season; they are too talented for that.
As far as your last statement, I don't remember you Gator fans taking it easy on us, even on our board when Florida was doing well, and Kentucky was doing not-so-well. However, I am not going to talk smack, as I am a someone who merely likes Kentucky, and you are someone who merely likes Florida. None of us have any impact on the game tomorrow. But this is rivals, and people will talk mouth.

KYR, that is a rarity here in FL for most fans. Unless they are defending a national title, FL basketball is right after the Heat, Panthers, Marlins, Buccaneers, Jaguars, Lightning, Rays, beaches, golf and brazilian butt lifts in importance!
I agree with that, but you have to call. Who do you see as a realistic coaching replacement for us should Donovan jump to the NBA?

In all seriousness though, I think that ESPN is probably right in that we have about a 2% chance to win, but hey, that is still a chance. If the stars all align we could shock the world. In reality, I hope for a good competitive game - much more competitive than the 30 and 40 point beatdowns many Cat fans are predicting in the prediction thread.
As a side note, I went to the Battle 4 Atlantis earlier this year, (before everyone realized how average we were) and there was actually a couple there that were Kentucky fans. My wife and I had a nice afternoon talking basketball with them.
I have to give it to some of you Kentucky fans. This couple spent $5K+ like all of us just to come watch some good basketball games. - not including their team The guy told me he was there to see UNC lose. That was a good enough reason for me, and I was glad that he got his wish. It is too bad we couldn't have handed them another loss.
Anyway, I hope for a good game tomorrow.
I'd hope for it to be someone other than Pelphrey, but I don't think that he's an unrealistic option. Just not the best IMO.
I have no respect for the guy, but in many respects Richard Pitino would be a good option. Biggest worry with him would be leaving for where I ultimately think he'll land - Louisville.
Before this year I would have said Bennett or Hoiberg. I'd wonder if they may end up with some big options also after years like they have. I also hear a lot of people talk about Hoiberg being NBA bound before moving to another college. Still no-brainer calls though. Archie Miller would be great also.
The UF job has something that very few jobs have though - low pressure with high resources. Basketball isn't what most fans care about (compared with football) and anyone who has success there gets to be a hero (just to a smaller degree I guess) and gets to fade into the background when they have a down year. They'll get paid well and its a state with TONS of local talent and no dominant programs to recruit locally against.
