Aside from everything else they do wrong there's just no excuse for missing game action to continue a crowd shot. They do this all the time. Early in the second half they had their sideline reporter talking and you could see the game going on way in the background, it's ridiculous. Just show the game.

At least they allow 2 hours and 30 minutes per game pretty much insuring full coverage of each game. Don't have to join Cats game in progress!

We also get represented by Tony Delk and John Pelphrey. Plus a guy from Kentucky in Daymeon Fishback. That's good representation for us. It might as well be the UK basketball network.

I gotta say last night was some of the worst announcing i've ever heard from an ESPN caliber crew. Constantly talking about something when the game action is going on and giving no play-by-play and the entire night they NEVER would state how many fouls someone had after a foul was committed.

My favorite part was where they said UK does better on the road because of less pressure from the home crowd. I mean Cal has FOUR losses at home in 6.5 years at UK....clearly the pressure gets to our guys year in and year out.

Agreed...

This puts them ahead of everyone else IMO.

If you are listening to the announcers to get information, good luck, but they are no different than any of the other networks that do games. There are too many games on TV now to get a veteran crew every game but that doesn't matter, new guys or old guys they talk about everything except the game that is going on. I usually turn the sound down. I really wish they would do the games as if they were radio play by play broadcasters.

Don't listen to the announcers, or get online and get the UK radio broadcast.
I rarely listen to the announcers, I just mute them, and unmute them when there is some interesting play or replay that they might just might add something too.

No one calls the game for you if you go to in person, so I see little need for poor "commentary" when I am sitting at home.

I always turn the sound off anyway, part of my game ritual. Logically I know it can't have an impact but all I know is EVERY time I listen to the broadcast crew Kentucky loses. Can't risk it.

This is an excellent point, guess I have a short memory. There is nothing more infuriating than missing the first 10 minutes of a UK game because East Podunk State and the University of Phoenix went into triple overtime.

I have to admit, that had me yelling at the TV. Something else that bugs me... after a made basket they always have to get a player closeup or cheerleaders or a crowd scene while the action is going on. Drives me a little batty.

I remember having to listen to games on WHAS, thank God for Cawood, because we only got one channel on TV.

SEC network isn't so bad. Missing a few plays versus the whole game is a huge improvement.
