The Reds!

The Reds suck. If they have a player develop into an excellent player they will trade him.

Not really true...they actually tend to hold onto players too long. Big Reds fan...this team has a lot of potential. Much will boil down to progress this season, if pitching staff holds up and hitting finally picks up they could easily finish above .500.

They are going to have some big FA decisions to make this offseason.

You mean like the Cubs did in 2016. Make sure to let your grandchildren's grandchildren know to be ready for another banner in 2124.

Cubs were absolutely awful 6 or 7 years ago. Then they had an influx of youth in Rizzo, Bryant, etc....plus young pitching and some key pieces came together. Reds are on the same track and have a very good farm system.

Winning a WS after being pretty much the best team in the NL that entire season, is quite a bit different than winning a mid-May home game in extra innings while being the worst team in the div and five games under .500. You enjoy your win while the Cubs enjoy being competitive.

Wow. They could finish above .500

You do understand your own insult, right? You hadn't won a WS in over a 100 years. The Cubs are the proverbial squirrel finding a nut.

They will all be traded if they are any good. What has the Reds done in the last 10 years but break hearts. They are just like the Bengals. Suck the life out of their fans.

They do have a good farm. That's how Theo turned the BoSox and Chicago into good teams, and WS winners. ...and without selling the future for one season. It all start with the farm system.

Suarez is a total stud. We have him locked up for atleast 5 more years and is very cheap. Knowing we gave up alfredo Simon for him is hilarious. It will be interesting when jennett comes back. igleasis Dietrich have been freaking steals the reds got lucky on. I feel bad for gray. Dude has pitched well, but doesn’t get run support half the time.

No clue who you are a fan of but Reds have been below .500 and well below for 5 years. Finishing above .500 with the youth this team has and farm system would be a big move towards completing their ongoing rebuild.

They leached onto Chapman, Cueto, Bruce, etc way too long and tried to piece meal a team together instead of admitting they needed to rebuild.

I'll stick with the positivity around organization and they have one of the best ERA's in baseball right now.

Bottom line is if this team hits like they are capable of they can make some noise relative to their past several seasons.

If you are a Cubs fan...chill, I'm not a hater, really like what they did up there.

So, winning a WS is the same as winning one mid-May game? I have nothing against the Reds, but starting a celebratory win over that game is pretty humorous. Maybe if they were 1 and 2 in the div, but not first and last.

Most of those decisions will be made by the all star break. I think scooter gets traded. I think they will do whatever they can to keep puig as long as they don’t over pay. He will bring in revenue, and with vitro clearly aging, they need someone to drawl fans to the stadium

Oh, and BTW exactly 6 small market teams finished above .500 in MLB last year.

Finally won a close game!! Hopefully Castillo comes out hot again tomorrow and we can try to climb back in the central

Yep. And, it’s not as bad as it looks, either. They’ve lost 12 one run games & blown several late game leads. A couple different bounces here & there & they’d be .500 or better right now. SHOULD be 4-5 games above .500, honestly. Pitching has been good but the offense has been in a season long slump. Need to get Votto out of the 2 hole, too. He’s providing little to nothing. But, I think they can still make a run at a WC spot. Should get a nice boost when Scooter & Alex Wood come back.

If we can get control of our bullpen then rest will settle. We’ve got one of the most explosive lineups in baseball.

Dejong is the shortstop of the future.

I still kind of lol at the thought of a “small market”. St. Louis is still considered small market which I find hilarious and Mozeliak isn’t given the excuse in STL.

We should have one of the most explosive offenses. We rank 22nd out of 30 in MLB. We rank 11th out of 15 in the NL. We should be a lot better than that with this offense.

They are small market for baseball...I'm not even going to go there with Cards, obviously a well oiled machine.

My point is that the Reds previous GM and current ownership made some serious mistakes which really screwed them and they should have rebuilt after 2012 playoff debacle. They didn't, drug their feet and half rebuilt which delayed the whole process.

Small markets cannot go out and buy a team have to develop farm system over and over again....Cards are one of the best at it....Reds doing it well of late.

I have been a Reds and Bengals fan for years and finally decided they are a bust as an organization and not worth my time.

Eh, I can't give up on either. Bengals would definitely be first to go in my book. I am a Reds fan for life...

What about Straily for Castillo too!? We've had some solid trades since we got worked over for Chapman

Oh yea for sure. We’ve always been an ace when it comes to evaluation and building our own. That’s where the Cardinal Way came from.

I just think in a day when the Cardinals are top 5-8 in worth and the average organization is worth 2 billion dollars the term “small market” doesn’t mean what it used to.

I really don’t think the Reds ownership is interested in winning a World Series. The expectations just seem misplaced.

Good call, I forgot to add that one. Dude has ace material and is young also.

Glad we didn’t trade senzel for kluber, that would of been stupid

Is the Cardinal Way similar to the Carolina Way?
