Going to games every year for four or five years and is it my imagination? Are they playing the same clips and every time out in between every quarter ? It just gets so monotonous and boring. Is there some reason they don’t change the songs up ?

I agree. And look, they're never gonna please everyone. I wanna hear the metal and hard rock. A lot of folks want to hear country. Another large segment likes rap. They seem to have found a better balance at mixing them all in there. But doing the same songs in the same situations over and over does get tired and stale. Personally, it's a football game.....you should be wanting to hype folks up.

Yeah. For Whom the Bell Tolls is a fine song. But the use of it on 3rd down burnout I have is high. Don't care if I ever hear it again. There's a veritable litany of songs you could mix into that situation and get the same effect.

Why don’t they get some students from the music dept who have an appreciation for football to study aother teams to create a unique playlist

Barney hasn't the time to give suggestions the Tipper Gore treatment.

I think the music is ok but we could do a lot more to enhance the fan experience and have a rowdier crowd by providing shakers. When I watch other SEC games on tv and the camera pans to the crowd the entire stadium is waving shakers it seems. We only provide them to the student section. I guess it's just another way to cut costs and maximize profits?

Thing you "brats" is youall have no clue what real music is. Pops my a$$ . Show some damn respect.
I love our elders .. they are the greatest generation and todays young people ( NOT ALL ) rarely measure up . Could we get soldiers to do what ours did on D -day ? or the 2-3 months that followed . I LOVE talking to , and being with older people . Just do . As far as music I'm no snob .. I can get into bluegrass , old country , Alt rock , hard rock ( just no screamers ) and much in between .. I can take hip hop if it fires pop the crowd and isn't repeated year after year . just play something new and exciting . But really thanks for knowing my musical preferences so well you can say with enthusiasm " you have no clue what real music is"
You must not have any clue the ugliness in which the other guy has trashed me . Adios .

No imagination or creativity. Too many hillbillies running things.
Hell, they still do the lame Blue White thing which they started
doing when Commonwealth was built 50 years ago.

No, I don't what's gone on between you two and not going to get into it. That said... we could sit and listen to music together if you throw out your r&r and replace it with 50's/60s r/r along with Motown and blues.

Blues -------From the famous line in The Jerk " I don't like that music , it makes me so sad " LOL. take care

Blast away. You bitch about everything to do with UK football experience and the basketball team. I don't really know why you bother being a fan if it causes you so much heart ache.

And don't call me Pops. My kids call me that and you are not worthy.
Wont call you that again , didnt realize something off the cuff would inflame you . As far as the way me , or anyone , wishes to be part of Big Big Nation , I'm not gonna act like some overseer on who gets in and questions why they " root" the way the way they root . I've been here for 20 years , not 1 other poster -- EVER has ever questioned why I pour my heart and soul into UK ( and $$) . I avoid your threads and comments , wish you would do the same .

I went to Vandy and Georgia this year. Vandy, well, I'm sure death is the only thing that could be more boring than being a home fan at that stadium. Every game Vandy plays is like an away game. Vandy has the ship horn on third down, we have the coal whistle. Georgia, the lighting effects are head and shoulders above Kroger Field. The music at both were not much better than Kroger Field. The atmosphere at Georgia has a lot of tradition built into it. TBH, I think the Georgia game was the worst seats I've ever had at a sporting venue. The place is so big and spread out (93,000 fans) that you seem a mile away from the field. The team entrance, time outs and other times the atmosphere is pretty much like Kroger Field, music wise. Our entrance to Grove Street was much better than Georgia's entrance. They called the dogs out with no music, just chants. I've heard for years that our home games were much worse than most other stadiums. That's the two away venues I can attest to and other than special lighting and tradition at Georgia, not a lot different.

The Rammstein is new this year

The thing I want changed is for the band to stop playing "Look Down" from Les Miserable. It's a bad choice musically, contextually, and just generally not culturally relevant.

I wanna hear more Mony Mony it gets my juices flowing, and WAP by Cardi B. Oh and Nothing's gonna stop us Now by Jefferson starship. I actually like that last one.

They banned artificial noisemakers a long time ago and grandfathered Miss State in for some reason. You can't even bring them in with you, much less use them.

Damn I hate people that get lines from The Jerk wrong. It's "there's something about those songs, they depress me."

Shakers=Pom poms. Not noisemakers.

It’s not great. I don’t think it’s really bitching or throwing a fit to say we could do better.

I've had season tickets since I was in my mid 20's, so over 30 years. I don't get the obsession with the music. I can understand it a little if you are talking about pre game or halftime because it sets the stage and mood before each half of football. Even then, football is enough to get me excited and into the game. I don't need music to do that. But during the game, all music does is give the fans a signal to make noise. They really shouldn't even need the signal, but that's what it's for. It could just as easily be a voice that says make noise. I don't get being "bored" at a sporting event because of the music being played. I'm not there for the music. I'm there for the game and the music is just background noise to the event.

The only problem I have with the music is the band. It's sad when a school like Ohio U can come into KCWS and their band embarasses UK's. The only band worse than ours is Vandy.

I don’t disagree with anything you said , I’m not saying I’m bored and need tunes for the game … but if they are going to play music at least rotate the damn play list .. that’s all , don’t read more into it than I said
