Another season, another Drop Report Series.

In a previous post I had stated that drops are often overblown, especially when it involves the dreaded Touchdown Drop. I found support for my opinion from none other than Matt Jones on his Tuesday show. He stated that Cummings had a drop that would have been a TD (he did) and that there were three or four drops (there were not) and he couldn't remember who (a common theme among drop recallers) and he thought that Smoke dropped one. (he did not)
Not smashing Jones, because IMHO many people do this. Anyway.... onto Dropville.

1st qt 7:33 #9, our big time transfer, TRob was involved in a reported Drop and Run Report. Turns out it was hot and behind him. Gonna be a recurring theme. DISCLAIMER: If you are one who believes a pass thrown behind a receiver is a routine catch, this report may not be for you. UNAPPEALABLE RULING: The Ol' Hot Behind No Drop (Not to be confused with other Hot Behind Reports on other websites )

2nd qt 9:52 #8, Izayah "Oh No" Cummings is the unfortuante first TD Drop of the year conviction. It was a little behind him, but he did get both hands on it and probably would say he should have caught it.... everybody else is sure as hell saying it. That's the bad news... good news, we won, it was the first game and everybody will be mad as hell about something else after the Florida game anyway. UNAPPEALABLE RULING: The Dreaded TD But Good Thing We Won Drop

2nd qt :33
#4, DeMarcus Harris is the alleged culprit. It was behind him, he could only get one hand on it, but I was so mad at the OL at the time I said it was a *%$%* drop. With help of my Ad Hoc Committee (my brother and two sons plus grandson) and after reviewing, it's been determined that it's hard to to catch a pass behind you with one hand. UNAPPEALABLE RULING: Almost A Grave Injustice Non Drop

3rd qt 1:13 #17, JuThan McLain
is involved in yet another pass thrown behind a receiver. Levis rolls out and throws a soft (unusual for him) pass behind JuThan who twists and gets both hands on it. This is the toughest call of the day and involved the AdHoc Committee plus a couple of wives as the disagreement may or may not escalated into two members squaring off during a commercial, one with a one year old on his hip while holding a PlayDough plastic knife while the other was menacing him with the threat of hurling two remote controls at him. The wives ended the situation aburtply, without lawyers. (This may not be a totally accurate description, but it was thought of) UNAPPEALABLE RULING: Going Down as A Split Decision Drop

4th qt 13:30 #47, Dustin Dingle II, Esquire,
enters the fray. This pass was too high and there fore not a drop, a QB Inaccuracy. The ADHoc Committee, under the threat of Wife Law, was unanimous this time. UNAPPEALABLE RULING: Too High, WifeLaw No Drop

4th qt 2:45
Finally, Miami of Ohio appears on the docket. #47 John "It's Never Too Late To Drop One" Doe "drops" into the scene. (I cracked myself up on that one, that's more then 50% of the fun) He heard footsteps... big, nasty, SEC footsteps. He didn't want to end up like his QB, out for weeks, so he put the ball on the turf instead of himself. UNAPPEALABLE RULING: Wise, Self-Perserving, We Are Beat Anyway Drop

Total Drops
UK 2 6% drops
Opponent 1 3% drops

UK passing 21-32 65%
Opponent 22-32 68%

Another feature, added this year (at no charge I might add... but lifetime subscriptions are STILL available) is Long Plays Allowed. UK's defense frustrates some by playing soft coverage so as not to give up the long play... so here are the long plays.

LPA:

We had longs plays on offense of 45 and 38 yards.
Opponent had long plays of 24 and 15.

See ya next time!
