well let's start with strength of schedule, currently # 25. Illinois for example will be a National seed, but their SOS is # 150. Next looking at RPI, ours is currently # 56, which is low, but there are 64 teams in the tournament.
Big wins during the season, 2 vs Top-ranked LSU, also 2 vs # 5 Florida, both on the ROAD. We also had a win vs # 9 Vandy, a win against # 16 UC-Santa Barbara also on the road. Won in a 16-4 blowout of currently # 24 Arkansas in Fayetteville. And then the 2 wins over Mizzou in Columbia.
Next, we won 14 games in the SEC, the Number 1 conference in the land, with the No. 1 RPI among all other leagues. LSU won 9 of their 10 SEC series this year, guess who they lost that 1 to ?

Now, the case against UK....30-25 overall record, bad mid-week losses to Ohio U, and 2 to Western Ky. Blown wins vs UofL, and Georgia after going to the 9th with a 1 run lead. Getting swept by an average So. Carolina team the 1st SEC weekend. Getting swept at home by Texas A&M, losing the series to UGA at home after winning the opener. Losing the SEC tourney opener to a lower seeded team.

OK, you are on the selection committee, what say ye.......In or Out, and why !

Im going to go with out. I think the bad midweek losses hurt. But the nail in the coffin to me was the UGA series. Losing that series hurt worse than anything else. UK is 7-14 vs the top 50 of the RPI. But its a tough call.

I'd probably vote "out" UNLESS this is one of those years where the selection committee is comprised of people with a "who have they beaten?" attitude. If that is the top criterion, then UK should be in. Doesn't get much better than winning series in Gainesville and Baton Rouge, respectively.

If UK had just taken care of business on midweek games, then they'd be a shoe-in.

I can't help but think back to March Madness, and everyone all over the country howling about UCLA getting a bid. Lo and behold, they win 2 games and make the sweet 16........So I will hold out hope, especially with our road series wins at LSU, Florida, and Missouri !

Well, today the EPSN analyst had us in his last 5 in. Missouri was in the last 5 out. If UK gets in then it will be the highest RPI to ever get in from the SEC.

D1 baseball has us out& not even in last 5 out. Program needs new leadership & a new stadium.

UK's bubble has officially burst. As expected, they did not make the NCAA tournament.

Looking at the National seeds, LSU is the # 2, and Florida is # 5. We won series from both those teams ......on the road ! Throw in wins over UCSB and Vandy and we will see I guess !

Didn't make it in. Not really even in the conversation apparently. Missouri was apparently given more consideration than UK was. For once I think we didn't do enough in the midweek to get in. Auburn finished below is in the conference, but their number 2 overall schedule and top 20 RPI vaulted them to a two seed. Disappointing year for the Big Blue. Hopefully we'll make some strides towards improvement. The first year player draft is June 8th through the 10th. We'll see soon after who will be attending UK and who will be going pro.

What I said would happen at the end of last season has happened this year......everyone new this was coming, don't act SHOCKED of the outcome.......WERE GOING BACK TO THE FRUSTRATING YEARS.......YEAR AFTER YEAR OF NEAR MISSES.........TOTAL LACK OF LEADERSHIP FROM THE TOP DOWN..........:baseball:[pfftt]
