the can't miss kid trap

Cal has avoided this for years. Years. You get a kid that is pretty much agreed to be a one year NBA first rounder....lottery even......and the kid turns out to be a fish out of water.
What do you do? Put a shadow on the NBA pipeline reputation and tell this youngster named Skai he needs to sit a year and get stronger.....
or keep him in and work...perhaps tearing up the rest of the team hopes in the process....and hope he catches on?
I know what I would do....but I'm light years away from putting on a head coach hat. What say you, Cat fans?

Sit Skal. A lot of people want Skal to be great, except for Skal. He doesn't want it, he doesn't fight for it. As long as Skal is starting, or even getting significant minutes, I think Cal is making a tremendous mistake, until Skal has a big rebounding game.

Cal has been pretty clear that the players come first and I feel like he truly means it. I don't see him ever putting the teams needs over what is best for the kids future. I don't agree with it because I'm a lifelong UK fan, I will always want what's best for the team but Cal isn't a lifelong UK fan. He wants these kids to be great, make a lot of money and will give them every opportunity to do so. It probably hurts the team this year because Skal is going to play no matter what. It's also a big reason that we will be preseason #1 next year and get the recruits every year because they know Cal has got their back.
