Has that kid signed a letter with IU? If not Cal should pursue..We need more front court help.

He was a guy who did not want to be a back-up to Skal, Lee and Poythress, but not good enough to challenge them for starter minutes. Even if he hadn't signed, I doubt that has changed.

So he settled on Indiana after Syracuse got in NCAA jail. Too bad for the kid stuck in that basketball purgatory of mediocrity with a looney coach. But he'll survive it the same way Noah Vonleh did. He might even get to play one or two games in the NCAA tournament.

Lol.

The are a lot of IU threads on this board. Tends to attract IU fans.

So, let's talk Thomas Bryant:
A really good fit for IU for the upcoming year. A physical, dirty work minded big who probably won't look to create his own offense, but can protect the rim and apparently can step out and hit a three now and then.

Will fit well with IU's desperate need for a rim protector and physical player. Also supposed to be a great kid for team chemistry.

Would have been a nice addition for UK in that he's a bit bulkier than Lee or Skal, but if Lee adds ten lbs in the offseason that will take care of itself.

Any other committed players you want UK to pilfer? Is that what we have become? Some of you guys...

That wasn't me. Pay attention. The kindest thing I'd say about Clappy is that I hope he keeps his job for a long, long, long, long, time. Longer, actually. A looooooonnnngggg time.

But Bryant seems like a good kid, so good luck to him. Hell, who knows? Maybe he'll actually get to play in the Elite Eight. Extremely unlikely but not impossible. After all, that's happened once in the lifetime of grad-level students at Bloomington. A rare few of the students at IU might even have an actual memory of it.
Imagine what any other coach could do with the talent Calipari has had...even the quirky ones. Better hope Skal is eligible and a future NBA MVP, otherwise you are likely NIT bound.

Here's a stat that will make you laugh out loud: In the lifetime of the average IU senior, 21 NCAA tournaments, the Hoosiers have won 14 NCAA tournament games. In the past SIX tournaments, Kentucky has won 22 games.

IU to Elite Eight or beyond: 1 for 22 years
UK Elite Eight or beyond: 5 for 6 years

In the time that Indiana has made it past the Sweet 16 once, dating back to the 1994 season, Kentucky has: 12 trips to the Elite Eight or beyond, Seven Final Fours, Five championship game appearances and Three National Championships.

Loosier fans truly are a pathetic bunch. Good stats.

Give it a rest pards. This stuff is done a lot. If he hasn't signed a letter ,then he is fair game. Cal put all of his eggs in several baskets and it didn't work and now he is scrambling for bodies. Bryant would be a good one.. If you can't see that, you know less than nothing, especially since we are so thin on the front line.

Owned. And I said before, IU fans should be humiliated that Butler and Notre Dame have surpassed their has been program in the state of Indiana.

This isn't football. Kids are rarely recruited after verballing at big time programs especially this late.

Cal has always said he NEVER recruits kids who have committed elsewhere without first decommitting.

Know your coach and stop acting like we are bush league.

We're you the Indiana fan that cried behind me in Atlanta, when UK ended your season 2012? I thought that was cute. Poor lowly hoosiers.
Now now. Had a ton of UK folks around me this last month crying about basketball. History seems to repeat itself. Glad to be moving into May...

Oh, yes, the old tried and true "anyone can win with that kind of talent" argument. Signed: Josh Pastner, Rick Barnes, Ben Howland-post 2008, and your own beloved coach who couldn't make it past the Sweet 16 with two of the top 4 picks in the NBA draft. When your team hasn't even sniffed an Elite Eight in 13 years, you really have no room to throw stones at a program that's won a National Championship and been to The Final Four 4 of the last 5 seasons. The next time you're about to talk trash about a team that's actually been relevant in the last decade, stop and think to yourself that the last time IU actually won a National Championship, the kids were all playing Atari and the original NES.
