You could have given me a thousand guesses and I would have never come up with Dave Concepcion.

I'm not surprised that it's a Red but I would have thought it would be Johnny Bench, Pete Rose if you could buy it. I'm guessing they don't sell Pete Rose throwbacks.

Mitchell and Ness gives you a whopping three reds choices . Two benches and one Concepcion. And those two bench jerseys probably split the vote. And one Esiason jersey. Nothing to learn from this, other than great promotional lesson from M&N.

Half of people who wear the jersey probably have never seen him play. The wear it for the double entendre. Same reason why you see so many Beaver and Cocks hats around. There aren't that many Oregon St or South Carolina fans in this area.

I read this article, too. It's here on ESPN

The data is taken from a website called Mitchell & Ness and they offer 2 Reds jerseys - Concepcion & Bench. Bench's jersey is more expensive.

Not exactly a great sample size, there.

I don't think people are that clever.

BTW, if your 'throwback' jersey is a current player, then your state sucks.
