I want to know why no one is blasting Self for basically saying that he wasn't taking this tournament seriously because of a limited roster and was already looking towards next year.

Uh what? How is that acceptable at all?

I'll tell yah, 1 title and two final 4s since we got Cal. I will never understand why people think Self is one of the best coaches in the game. And he should be getting roasted for his comments. Yet somehow, he's just one of those coaches who just gets pass after pass, no matter what.

Yeah, I agree. But I think it’s in large part to the fact that Self is now responsible for half of KU’s national titles.

That seems to be the reason., but winning your conference, only to bow out early in the tournament SO many times.. IDK. Self's track record doesn't work for me.. and just like Cal's title in 2012 was almost forgotten about by the end of the 2015 season.. soon too, will Self's title start to fade in the rear view mirror..

because they aren't winning shit next season unless something drastic changes for them.

However, in every case, his comments have been taken out of context.. they are just his answer. He answered the question that was asked. Reiterating, that they were too thin this year.

There is no doubt that Self is the best P5 coach. Had we locked him up and he had UK behind him to pull the type of talent Cal had... we would be so far ahead of everyone else right now.
