OU heard you dissing them the past couple of weeks Silents. Tubby is going to be angry at you for poking the bear.

OU despite the seven losses are better than most think.

Then again Texas Tech is awful on offense. They rank 279th in offensive efficiency.

OU is ranked 6th in defensive efficiency.

So u could see this coming lol

Possible if we played Texas Tech they wouldn't score at all lololol

I guess the question remains, will that Iowa State shocker be the one and only conference win for those awesome Raiders?

How predictable. Blue Woman (aka, rupp's runt of Dynasty Defenders) should be stopping by any minute now.

Let the white supremacist rally start, just like it does every single time someone starts a Tubby thread.

Tubby was fired from Minnesota, will be fired at Texas Tech and never made it to a Final Four with his players here and was about to get the ziggy here.

This great coach............

Saul Smith is a UK legend that Tubby took to the Final Four.

I think Iowa st was looking ahead past TT onto Texas.
TT is a terrible team. His OOC schedule was just horrible.

Even with a title and a few good seasons , I don't understand how anyone could think that Tubby is a HOF coach.

Barely mediocre .......IMHO!!!

Since the 04-05 season he hasn't done squat!

And again the biggest racist, mj2k10 comes out of the woodwork. As in your previous thread comments, you always inject your venomous attitude. Get some mental help before you go over the edge.

That's Tubby Ball, what do you expect! If he was white it wouldn't matter! Still a very average coach!

Didn't someone say recently that Tubby's team is playing good ball now?

That was quick!

This is what happens when a coach does not care about offense. Tubby just picked up his sixteenth ten-loss season.

He won 20 games every year at UK dude. Did Rupp do that? Hell no.

I mean that is seriously some of the logic the Tubby lovers spat off...as if winning 20 or more a year is tough at UK. Tubby had much of his whole team back each year and barely won 20 many years at UK, the best college b-ball school in America, while Cal has easily won over 20 5/6 seasons, and his one struggling team was after he lost literally his whole team from the year before minus Wiltjer.

Cal has won 38 in a season, 35 in a season, 29 twice, 21 once, and 19 this year (In progress, 19/19 for 100% winning percentage thus far). Cal is averaging 30.4 wins a year through 5 years (and that will go up in avg after this season), vs. 7.4 losses a season.

Rick Pitino won 36 in a season, 35 in a season, 30 in a season, 29 in a season, 28 in a season, and 27 in a season. If you want to punish him for the mess he inherited then he won 22 in a season and 14 his first year. His average record in non-probation seasons was 30.83 wins a year vs. 5 losses.

Tubby won 35, 32, 28 twice, 27, 24, 23, and 22 3 times. He averaged 26.3 wins per year, and 8.3 losses. Those would be fine enough numbers if he had been able to bring some consistency, any consistency, to NCAA Tournament play. His 1 Final Four in 10 appearances pales in comparison to Cal's 3 Final Fours in 4 appearances, and Pitino's 3 Final Fours in 6 appearances. The Tubby defenders will point to the fact that all 3 only won one title (Cal is changing that this year IMO to put himself all alone, no debate, a UK's 2nd greatest coach), but most intelligent UK fans just want a chance to compete for titles most years. Cal and Pitino did that...Tubby maybe had 4-5 title "contenders" in his years at UK, but I may be giving too much credit with that high a number.

I'm sure you race baiter types never think much further than your emotional outbursts but it seems to me that the strategy of labeling all critics of a black coach as "racists" would have the opposite effect of what you want.

If hiring a black coach carries the baggage of racist accusations for poor performers if you choose to fire them....then why risk the hire in the first place?

Who is the racist....the person that criticizes bad performance or the person that excuses it based on skin color?

Who's labeling all critics of Tubby racist? Certainly not me, especially since I was one of them. I'm labeling specific critics of Tubby racist, based on years of interaction with those people.

Wow, mj2k10, way to embarrass yourself...

Even Al Sharpton would be envious of your playing of the race card ITT.

You raise an interesting point about the Hall of Fame. I was trying to find out if any coach ever elected to basketball Hall of Fame had a record of 5 or more seasons where they did not have a conference winning record, regardless of conference. Went all the way back to the those elected from 40s on and did not see any with 5 seasons of not having a winning conference season record.

The coach under consideration here is working on season #7 or #8 without a winning conference record. Have tried to google search many ways, hope someone can clear this up and find a way to verify for certain.

Tubby is a very average coach. He should thank his lucky stars (and bank account) that Pitino hired him to be on his staff.

my issue with OTS was recruitment: that too often, he turned away talented players who WANTED to play for UK, in favor of duds who didn't really care.
