They are 3-3, with games left against several teams with a pulse. They get LSU at home, but have only one more "gimme" game on the schedule.

They've thrown a lot of money at Jimbo, whose record is now worse than the guy they fired before him.

I wonder how much longer the billionaires of Texas will tolerate it.

I’d say they could do better than Jimbo, especially given their resources. They’re another school that should throw everything at Coach Prime. But wait, can Coach Prime coach at an Adidas school? He’s a NIKE guy, right?

I see 4 more wins then toss ups vs Ole Miss/LSU. Their D is good enough to win out.

Dab gummit' lord Sabin called them a bunch of recruitn' cheaters.

Getting what they deserve them damn Aggie things. Whatever the freak that is.

Are you telling me you're the Texas Agricultures?
Yeah I'm real damn scared of that. The Texas agricultures!!!
Go freaking Aggies🪕🪕🪕🕺
Hopefully y'all lose enough to kick you out of the SEC and bring back Georgia tech or something. Lol. Yellow jackets is a lot better than the fightn' agricultures!
Just imo the Texas fighting agriculture is almost as bad as the South Carolina gamecocks but not quite.
GO COCKS play hard

Why does everyone just assume Coach Prime is elite?

His “coaching” prowess remains to be seen as he’s only in his second year. However, he went 11-2 last season and is currently 6-0 this season. So he’s obviously winning games.

Beyond that, as you already know, so much of “coaching” these days is about recruiting. And recruiting is all about “branding”. There is no coach in football right, at any level, better than Prime at branding. He lured away the #2 overall recruit in the country last season who was formerly committed to FSU. Imagine what he could do with the resources of a Texas A&M.

Watch his most recent segment on 60 minutes and find out. It’s incredible what he’s doing at Jackson St.

He has a film crew essentially filming every day. He has a DJ playing in the locker room. He’s improved every facility, provided each kid with state-of-the-art equipment including Louis Vuitton shields for their face masks (I’ve never even heard of that but those kids love it).

I’ll say this, he’d be a nightmare come true at a place like UL. I want him to jump to GT, Auburn, Texas A&M, wherever, just so long as UL doesn’t get him.

Listen to him speak for 2 minutes to his team and find out why they’re 6-0 this season.

We most likely have 2 more losses in UT and Georgia and one more slip up like the SC game and we are right there.
The OP had nothing to do with a comparison of UK and aTm, but while we are at it . . . .

We are 5-2, nationally ranked and have a boost of confidence coming out of the State game.

A & M is 3-3, has fallen from ranked teams and is reeling, and lost by 18 points to a team we beat by 10 points.

And they have a Coach paid in the Top 3 in the nation, the number one freshman class to go with multiple Top 15 classes from prior years, a stadium with 100K seats filled every Saturday, sit upon the campus of the 6th largest public University on earth, backed by billions of Texas petro dollars.

And yet, at worst, we are "right there."

Agreed. And they still have LSU, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Auburn, and Florida left on the schedule.

Louisville is not a national brand. Outside of UK we don’t even think about Louisville at all. There’s no way with his recognition he’s go to a program like Louisville without a national brand and without a guarantee of a major conference tag in the upcoming years.

Louisville just isn’t a big deal outside of Kentucky and even then, they’re not a really a big deal inside of Kentucky.

I agree with you, and you and I have agreed on many things before (under a different alias 😉).

I also never envisioned UL being welcomed into the ACC, or expanding their stadium, or having a Heisman winning QB….but via deal with the devil they did it all.

Deion would do well there, very well. He would relish in the culture and elevate it. A guy like Tom Jurich would have had him hired yesterday. Thank God Jurich is gone.

Unless they can tie him to some sort of recruiting or ethics violation, I think they owe him about $95 million if he's fired prior to December 1st.

There is SEC money and super loaded boosters but I feel like he's essentially unfireable at least for the next year or so. However, the craziness that are rich boosters occasionally surprise me.

I don't know if those things save the buyout. It is a quaranteed contract and he gets pain regardless. Just means we pay another quarter a gallon for gas.

We have more 10 win seasons this century than they do. A&M is consistently overrated and consistently underachieves.
I would have bet serious money you were wrong, but would have lost it.

One 11 win season since 1998 . . . .

Nine has been the ceiling since.

I hope those boosters kept their receipts.
That is not what I would call a natural locker room. Kids aren't there necessarily because it is a good fit.

People forget FSU was on the verge of firing him when Jamis delivered a NC. Jimbo knew and was not going to investigate the assault charges, the stealing of crab become a joke, but ATM went after him, saved FSU a buyout they could afford. He left FSU a train wreck, and will do the same to anyone who will hire him.

This may prove to be the weakness of NIL. A & M’s recruiting was hardly trash, in prior years, but the vaunted frosh have not helped much.
