Last five predictions have come today and all have been for the Dawgs. One was from a Kansas beat writer and one from Jerry Meyer. I know Jerry gets some mixed reviews around here, but he still knows some things. I would be ecstatic if we were to land Mack. That would give us five commits in the 2015 class. We would have landed:

Mack - 4 star, 6'7" wing and #61 in R150
Ogbeide - 4 star, 6'9" center and #91 in R150
Jackson - 3 star, 6'5" combo guard and #124 in R150
Wilridge - 3 star, 6'7" wing and former R150 member pre-knee injury
Edwards - 3 star, 6'10" power forward and came on strong late with offers from Pitt, Marquette, SMU, among others

Our 2016 class has started off strong already having Crump and Harris both of whom are 4 star guards and top 100 players in the R150.

It's really exciting to see us finally starting to make some noise on the recruiting trail. I think that would have been Fox's biggest weakness, but he seems to be turning a corner there, especially with the hiring of Jonas Hayes and Yasir Rosemond.

Okay, I'm done rambling about my Dawgs. I'm just excited that things seem to be headed in the right direction. Maybe we can be the team to take over perennial second place in the SEC now.

Years ago when I first moved to Atlanta, basketball in the state of Georgia was a total fill-in after football. I remember the H.S. state championships were played in an almost empty arena. There seemed to be little to no talent. But as the state grew (especially Atlanta) the talent grew as well. Whether it was due to pure population growth or factors like ESPN and the televising of more and more basketball I don't know. Now the state puts out a ton of high-level talent. If Fox can get the top 1 or 2 players per year in the state to stay home....UGA would really be a force to reckon with.

That looks like a pretty solid class and one that should be around and together for awhile. That could pay some pretty good dividends down the road with Fox as your coach. Could be a team that might be a tough out for many come NCAA tournament time once they all gel together. Looking good for the SEC future.

UGA and FOx better step it up, i know he got an extension but dude is hovering around 500 for his time there, making the tourney was a start and about on par for what UGA has done in the past. what 1nce per decade?

Just about all of the sec schools are in areas that should do really well. Some much more so than others.
Texas AM, Georgia, LSU, Florida, Ole Miss, UT, Ark and Missouri should all have good teams every year. They are in areas that have talent and are the most local sec school or the most dominate school in the area.
Georgia football runs that state no reason why they shouldn't be landing the top 4-5 guys in the state. If they did that they would be title contenders in most years.
LSU is around an immense talent hot bed as well.
Ole Miss is spitting distance from Memphis.
Texas AM is the only sec school in Texas and that state produces enormous amount of talent every year.
Missouri is the only big school in the state and should pull in the guys from St Louis and Kansas City not to mention other parts that has good ball.
UT is the premier program in the state and Pearl has shown that they can be title contenders.
Arkansas is the only school in that state.
Florida is in a talent rich hot bed and the only sec school their.

It's just the sec schools just do not help out the programs much at all. This year many schools are stepping up with Auburn landing Pearl last year and Howland and Barnes on board this year.
Anderson was damn good at Missouri making them usually ranked in the top 10 since he left both Ark and Missouri have been very rocky. Donavon was very good at Florida.
I think the Vandy coach is one of the best coaches in America. He is a cry baby and whines a lot but he can take some average kids and make a team out of them. I've always wondered what he could do if he had some talent like we get.

Just some random thoughts I was thinking.

Yeah you guys have some good prospects coming in. I hope y'all get Mack and have a good season next year. I'm a die hard Braves fan so I got love for Georgia. Our Braves aint been looking too good though have they. We'll be back in a year or so though.

The record is getting better. The past two years we're 41-26 overall and 23-13 in the SEC. Definitely on headed in the right direction I believe. Solid recruiting is only going to help too.

Native of Paducah, and was a UK fan years before I knew where Georgia was. Can't argue about the GT basketball program, but we OWN Ugag.
I'll trade y'all owning us for NCAA appearances every time. Our future is MUCH brighter than GT's and it feels really good.
